GAA CLUB NOTES

Planning permission is being sought for the constructi­on of two new dressing rooms etc. in 2019, funding permitting. Work should commence on the new lighting before the end of August.

Most recent games have been away, and this trend continues for the next week. The exception being on Wednesday, August 1, when the girls under-14 footballer­s play their semi-final v Shels in Kilanerin and also the boys under-20 footballer­s play Oylegate on either the lower pitch or in the Rock. The adult Hurling A team play Our Lady’s Island in Monageer at 3.30 p.m. on Monday the sixth in championsh­ip. The senior football championsh­ip v St Martin’s is next to be arranged.

Team of the week has to go (again) to the girls under-14 panel with their county camogie semi-final on Saturday the 28th followed by their football semi-final on Wednesday the first. They won’t feel exhausted after that if they get to both, or even one, county final.

Saturday 7.30 p.m. first anniversar­y Mass for Mark Doyle, Oulart Lodge and anniversar­y Mass for Stephen Doyle, Oulart Lodge, also James Fogarty Senior and Bridget and Michael Fogarty, Coolgreany.

WHIST

First lady was Meg Doyle, sec- ond lady was shared by Peg Stafford and Arline Dooley and half time lady was Eilish Murphy. First gent was Seán Murphy, second gent was Sadie Mordaunt, third gent was shared by Pat Whelan and Ross Bailey and half time gent was Marie Cushe.

Raffle winners were Mary McCarthy, Alice Gibney and Ross Bailey. Whist continues on Wednesday night at 8.30 p.m.
