Hilarity on the Bunclody stage
THE unmistakable sound of laughter could be heard emanating from Redmond’s of Bunclody recently as Bunclody-Kilmyshall Drama Group took over the stage in the loft for a five night run with ‘When I Snap My Fingers’. As always with the Bunclody-Kilmyshall group, a great deal of work went into the production ahead of opening night and the cast and crew reaped the rewards as laughter echoed around the venue and punters went home thoroughly entertained.
Under the expert directorship of Mary Gibson, the play saw Niall Kennedy and Joan Lambert play couple Simon and Maria Moffat who agree to undergo hypnosis as part of an act by the great Sven Gali, played by John Donohoe. A fire alarm interrupts the performance before Sven Gali can reverse the effects his hypnosis has upon hearing certain trigger words. The following day Simon invites his boss Dan (Conor Stephenson) and his wife Dolly (Rebecca Murphy) round for dinner in the hopes of salvaging what’s left of his accounting career. The Moffats’ teenage daughter (Chloe Kavanagh) desperately tries to salvage the situation as her parents transform into an array of characters as a result of Sven Gali’s work.
Over the five nights, the show saw a great attendance with people coming from right across the local area and it gained some wonderful reviews. As always, the cast, crew and director wished to thank everyone who came along.
