Eurovision’s Ryan set for Enniscorthy

-

HAVING recently restored Ireland’s pride by making it to the Eurovision finals, singer/songwriter Ryan O’Shaughnessy is set to take to the stage at Enniscorthy’s Presentation Centre on September 15.

The Skerries natives managed to sufficiently capture the imaginations of the European judges with his song ‘ Together’ making it to the finals earlier this year and at the same time carrying a strong message about equality.

Having intially came to prominence as an actor on Fair City, a role which he played for seven years, Ryan decided to give music a go and enjoyed a brief foray with fame in the UK after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent.

However, the Dubliner has since advised youngsters starting out in music not to follow in his footsteps. ‘I would advise people not to do it,’ he said. ‘As a talent, you have a lot more to give than just being a snippet on a TV show. I find with a lot of The X Factor singers, there are some amazing singers, but do you hear of any of them afterwards? There’s only one or two that push hard and might make a career out of it.’

Having come through the madness of reality TV, Ryan released his album ‘Back to Square One’ back in 2016 and, following his foray into the crazy world of Eurovision, he’s now back with a brand new song ‘Civil War’.

Enniscorthy is the first date on his tour to support the new single and he’s looking forward to showing a Wexford crowd exactly what he can do.

Tickets for the gig are priced at €12/€15 and are available from The Presentation Centre on 053 9233000 or from www.presentationcentre.ie.
