-

THE final preparations are under way ahead of the 78th Castlebridge Horticulture and Agri- culture Show which will take place on Sunday, August 12, at 1.45 p.m.

The organisers are promising another ‘fun filled day for all the family’ and they have been working very hard over the last few months to ensure that will be the case.

Admission to the event will be €5 for adults while children under the age of 14 will get in free-of-charge.

‘We have numerous classes to suit everyone so whether you’re interested in baking, arts and crafts, growing vegetables or flowers, photogra- phy or flower arrangements we will have a class for everyone,’ a spokesperson for the organisers told this newspaper.

There will a wide range of competitions and attractions in the children’s section and the dog show is always an event that attracts a lot of attention each year.

‘ The first prize winners of all the dog show classes will automatically go into our final class of the day where one dog will be crowned overall dog of the show,’ said the committee member.

In addition to numerous stalls, among the other attractions scheduled to be on-site at the event will be a bottle stall run by Shelmaliers GAA club, Mrs Oddsocks – to entertain the children, and Slam – The Party People with freshly spun candy floss and warm salty Popcorn. Children attending will also get to take part in a fancy dress parade and each participant will receive a goodie bag.

There will be a Pets Corner section as well as a Bric-or-Brac stall operated by Shelmaliers Ladies Football club. Entries for the show can be emailed to castlebridgeshow@gmail.com
