A total of 130 ladies played from 29 clubs, and the C.S.S. was 35 points.

The French Connection fashion show on Monday evening was excellent with beautiful models tempting those in attendance with both the summer sale collection and the fall/winter collection from the boutique. A few males unwittingl­y appeared at the bar for creamy pints and were treated to an evening of beauty and glamour!

All week the players experience­d four seasons each day, wind, rain and sunshine! Despite the weather, the scoring was very impressive.

Tuesday’s competitio­n was an open fourball sponsored by Joyce’s Expert in associatio­n with Dyson. A team representi­ng Dyson provided free blow drying to 45 delighted ladies!

The ever-eloquent and well coiffed Murt Joyce delivered the prizes in the evening.

Wednesday’s competitio­n was again sponsored by Murphys SuperValu Rosslare, an open singles in gale-force winds and driving rain. A total of 123 brave ladies played and the C.S.S. was 34 points.

Thursday’s competitio­n was sponsored by the Club House Caterers, a team of three event with 53 teams playing.

It was a hugely successful ladies’ open week at Rosslare Golf Links, enjoyed by all.

The lady members wish our friends in Enniscorth­y Golf Club every success in the District final of the Junior Cup competitio­n, and we wish our male members good weather and great golf for their open week.

Tuesday, August 14, is the ladies’ Solheim Cup competitio­n, an open team of four sponsored by Selskar Pharmacy, members €5 and visitors €10.
