Brownies
The new term for the Enniscorthy Brownies will begin on Thursday, September 13, in The Friends Meeting House, Springvalley, from 3.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Drivers required
The Irish Cancer Society is desperately trying to recruit drivers willing to take local patients to chemotherapy appointments in St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin.
All driver expenses would be covered and they are looking for people particularly with free weekday availability and who have a car available to them and can commit to at least two weekdays per month. To get involved, please contact Laura on 012310594 or visit www.cancer.ie.
Library blues
As part of the Blackstairs Blues Festival, Enniscorthy Library will host a special intimate evening with Argentinian Blues maestro Daniel De Vita this Thursday, September 6.
The 30 year-old is a native of Buenos Aires and has been playing the blues for the past ten years.
In 2015, he recorded his first solo work in ‘Southside Blues’ which he says serves as a tribute to masters such as Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Memphis Slim and many more.
At this intimate evening, Daniel will speak about his influences, his playing style and perform a song or two for what is sure to be an eager audience. For more details, please contact Enniscorthy Library on 053 9236055.
Culture Night
Some of the finest writers, poets, singers and playwrights the county has to offer are set to join forces to celebrate Culture Night 2018 at Enniscorthy Castle on Friday, September 21, from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.
Among those due to take part are renowned poet Paddy Kehoe, best-selling authors Carmel Harrington and Shane Dunphy, John Kelly, Paul O’Reilly, Maura Flannery and many more.
It will be an evening of literature, poetry, song, music and dance and all are welcome to attend.

Sean Nós dance classes
An 8 week beginner Sean-Nós dance course is to get underway in the Presentation Centre this September.
All ages are welcome to attend. The course costs €80 and officially starts on September 5.

If you’re struggling with mental health difficulties, GROW is a community-based mental health organisation which holds weekly meetings locally.
Meetings are confidential and no referral is necessary, simply come along on the night. GROW promotes breaking social isolation.

Computer Course
Over 55s are being offered to take the opportunity to receive one to one training in computers once a week for 5/6 weeks in September and November in Enniscorthy.
All courses are free and open to anyone over 55 years of age.

Ger Devereux Memorial Run
The annual Ger Devereux Memorial Run/Walk will take place this Sunday, September 9, meeting at Bellefield GAA Complex. Registration will take place from 10 a.m. with the walk getting started at 11 a.m.
Funds raised last year were used to fund 4 defibrillators and train over 30 people in AED in the Enniscorthy area and it is hoped that this year this work can be continued with the help of Enniscorthy Red Cross. For any further information, please contact Michael Devereux on 0872927138.
ADHD Lecture
An ADHD information meeting will take place in Enniscorthy Library this Thursday, September 6 at 7 p.m.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a group of behavioural symptoms that include inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.
ADHD is the most common behavioural disorder among children.
It is estimated that the condition affects 3-9% of school-aged children and young people.
Worldwide, around 2% of adults may be affected by ADHD.
The talk, given by Nicola Coss of HADD (ADHD Ireland), will focus on raising awareness, knowledge and understanding of the condition, and providing advice on resources, support and information for those affected by ADHD.
Comedy Night
Two of Ireland’s best loved comedians combine for a special double-headlining show - ‘The Shape of Two’ at The Presentation Centre on September 28.
Fred Cooke and Bernard Casey have both carved out sterling reputations for hilarity on the Irish comedy scene and will combine for this special Enniscorthy show.
Having smashed his debut performance at The Electric Picnic, Bernard took the internet by storm with his viral videos on the Polish/Irish accent, the French oral and the Irish listening test.
Meanwhile, Fred Cooke is a familiar face from stints on The Tommy Tiernan Show and Republic of Telly and brings his own high-energy storytelling style.
