Female entrepreneurs can avail of scheme to help develop business

-

WEXFORD BASED female entrepreneurs who are in the early stages of their business idea are being encouraged to apply for a place on an initiative called the Acorns Programme.

The aim of the scheme is to provide up to 50 rural based entrepreneurs with the knowledge, support and networking opportunities required to meet and possibly exceed their current aspirations.

The programme will run from October this year until April 2019.

Speaking about the scheme Minister Paul Kehoe said the selected participants will be those who, on a competitive basis, best demonstrate the potential to advance their businesses and their commitment to fully engage in the initiative.

The deadline for applications for this year’s cycle is September 21.

‘ The Acorns Programme is based on the principle that entrepreneurs learn best from each other,’ said Minister Kehoe.

The format of the scheme is based around interactive round-table sessions that are facilitated by female entrepreneurs who have started and successfully grown businesses in rural Ireland.

‘ The programme has proven very successful so far,’ said Minister Kehoe.

Over 150 female entrepreneurs have taken part in the initiative to-date. To apply for a place on the programme fill in the online registration form at www.acorns.ie following which an application form will be sent out by email. Alternatively, to have a form sent out by post contact 01-8450770.
