Lyric FM presenter Liz to host Gala festival concert

NATIONAL radio presenter Liz Nolan will host the annual Gala concert for this year’s Wexford Festival Opera.

The concert will take place in the O’Reilly Theatre at the National Opera House on Sunday, October 28, at 8.30 p.m.

Ms Nolan is a presenter with RTÉ Lyric FM and is one of the station’s most popular and wellknown hosts.

However, she is also well versed in the world of classical music and initially trained in voice, oboe and piano at the Dublin Institute of Technology Conservato­ry of Music and Drama, and at the Royal Academy of Music.

In 2001, RTÉ lyric fm beckoned and since then she has presented key shows on the station including Classic Drive, A World of Song, Lyric Notes and Lunchtime Classics.

In 2015, she received a bronze award for Best Overall Music Presenter at the prestigiou­s PPI (now IMRO) Awards.

The Gala Concert is one of the highlights of Wexford Festival Opera and will feature a collection of favourite party pieces performed by members of the events cast.

This year’s festival, which will be the 67th staging of the event, will run over 17 days beginning on Friday, October 19, and continuing until Sunday, November 4.
