Interviewees sought for film on heritage

-

Wexford Arts Centre in association with the filmmaker Terence White is looking for people of all ages and backgrounds living in Wexford to interview for a documentary film called My Cultural Heritage, about the diverse cultural heritage in the county.

If you have a story about an object you inherited, a song or a location in the county of cultural significance to you, the Arts Centre would like to hear from you. The project organisers especially want to hear from residents from diverse communities.

Stories about family heritage are welcomed, focusing on an artefact ora story passed down through the generations, or the creation of a new story about your heritage in the present day which you feel should be preserved for the benefit of future generations.

If you would like to be included in the project, you should email details about yourself and your cultural heritage contribution to boxoffice@wexfordartscentre.ie, including your name, age and contact number and a short video of yourself or written story of no more than two minutes long starting with ‘My Cultural Heritage is...’. Videos recorded on any kind of camera or mobile device are welcome, and they can be included in the email as a link to an unlisted YouTube video or to a file on a cloud sharing platform, such as Dropbox or Google Drive.

All contact information will be used with Wexford Arts Centre’s Data Protection policy. The project will include up to eight participants from diverse cultural backgrounds and contributors must be available for filming on Sunday November 11 in the Arts Centre. The project is made possible by Cultural Heritage Project funding and supported by Wexford County Council and Creative Ireland. The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is Friday, October 12.
