Shamrock Rovers close in on leaders

Shamrock Rovers closed the gap on leaders Gorey Rangers with a 3-0 win in Rathnure on Sunday. Rob Moorehouse, Graham Nolan and Elliott Jordan got the goals for the Enniscorth­y outfit.

Wexford Celtic earned the local bragging rights when edging out Wexford Albion 2-1, with Philly Cullen and Matthew Duffy scoring for the winners and Shane Bates replying.

Division3A

Ballymurn Celtic lead the way in Division 3A after a hardfought win over Rosslare Rangers on Sunday. Paul Larrissy grabbed the only goal of the game to earn them the points.

Rosslare Strand and All Blacks played out a 3-3 draw, with Dillon Parle and Danny O’Reilly (two) scoring for Strand and Mark Doyle, Adam Devereux and John Codd replying.

Bridge Rovers and Forth Celtic picked up a point apiece after a scoreless stalemate, while Eoin O’Connor and Adam Diskin got the goals for Corach Ramblers as they earned their first win of the campaign by seeing off Fethard Rangers 2-0.

Fenwick O’Shea and ‘Beefy’ Farnan got the goals for Ajax as they edged out Oylegate 2-1, with Anthony Doyle hitting the back of the net for United.

Division4

Fintan Mullins bagged both goals for Carne FC as they earned a share of the spoils against Gorey Celtic in their Division 4 clash on Sunday.

Lee Cullen and Ger Carey got on the scoresheet for the north county men.

Craig Davitt and Tom Kelly got the goals for The Ballagh United in their 2-1 win over Kiltealy Celtic, with David Jordan replying.

Davie Fenlon was the match-winner for Crossabeg, netting both of his side’s goals in their 2-1 win in Camolin with Peter McSweeney replying, while Ferns United and Campile United drew 2-2.

Dickie Redmond and Evan Ryan scored for Ferns, with Ben Cummins and Dylan Whitty both making the onion sack bulge for the visitors.

Division4A

St. Joseph’s continue to lead the way in Division 4A after edging out Taghmon United 3-2 on Sunday. Pa O’Brien (two) and Dillon Kearns got the goals for Joey’s, with Mossey Whelan and Adam Winters hitting the back of the net for Taghmon.

David Doyle-Murphy, Adam O’Connor and Willie Murphy got the goals for Cloughbawn as they chalked up a 3-0 win away to Caim United, while Castledock­rell overcame Killenagh Wanderers 4-0 thanks to a Shane Mernagh hat-trick and a Colm Quigley strike.

Jamie Cooney got the goal for St. Leonards in their 1-1 draw with Rosslare Port, with Paddy Doyle replying.

Division5

Wexford Bohs made it five wins from five in Division 5 when overwhelmi­ng New Ross Town 6-1 on Sunday.

John Carty, Beau Brennan, Gary O’Brien, Conor Cullen, Josh Guerrine and Cian Allen got the goals for the league leaders, with Anthony Feeney bagging a consolatio­n for Town.

Aaron Collier helped himself to a hat-trick for Bunclody as they edged out Enniscorth­y United 4-3, with Robert Doran grabbing their other goal.

James Sheridan, Aidan Canavan and Oumair Raufs got on the scoresheet for United.

Conor O’Neill (two), Mick Dunne, Niall Cullen and Kevin Roberts got the goals for Cushinstow­n as they saw off Ajax Athletic 5-2, with Mark Whelan and Jordan Hewitt on target for the Enniscorth­y side.

Ferns United and Shamrock Rovers drew 2-2, with Daniel Colibaba and Florin Bora scoring for Ferns and Denis Redmond and Ger Foley hitting the back of the net for Rovers.

Mark Sinnott scored for All Blacks with Keith Doyle replying for Wexford Celtic as they shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw.
