Women encouraged to ‘go international’
WEXFORD’S LOCAL Enterprise Office is hosting an evening networking event in Robertson Hall in Wells House as part of the National Women’s Enterprise Day on October 18.
The event takes place from 5.15 p.m. and will open with a networking drinks reception.
This will be followed by keynote speaker Niamh Sherwin
Barry from The Irish Fairy Door
Company.
The evening includes dinner and this will be followed by a panel discussion with a question and answer section.
The panel will consist of:
Ciara Donlon of Theya Healthcare, Vanessa Tierney from
Abodoo and Wexford’s ambassador for NWED, Sabine Rosler from Wells House and Gardens, and jewellery designer Blaithin
Ennis.
This year’s theme is ‘From local to global’ and it aims to encourage more female entrepreneurs to explore export markets and to ‘go international’ with their business. Female entrepreneurs are encourage to avail of LEO supports to help them to achieve this.
At the launch of National Women’s Enterprise Day, Julie Sinnamon, Chief Executive of Enterprise Ireland, said; ‘More than one in three start-ups supported by Enterprise Ireland last year were led by women – that compares to just one in ten start-ups in 2012.
‘While this increase is significant and very positive, we are committed to continuing the growth of the number of businesses with women at the helm. Working in partnership with the LEOs, Enterprise Ireland is supporting the global ambition of our innovative Irish women entrepreneurs, building their competitive capabilities and helping them grow and reach global markets.’
The cost for event is €35, which includes dinner and the drinks reception.
