GAA CLUB NOTES

Next year’s minor team have entered the George O’Connor hurling tournament which starts this Sunday. The lads play away to St Anne’s, throw in 11 a.m.

Tomas Murphy, Patrick O’Connor and Feidhlim Roche were part of the St Peter’s Senior Hurling team who played two Leinster League games this week with all three starting both games. They played Dublin South Dublin Schools on Monday with Feidhlim starting corner back, Pad wing forward and Mossy full. Mossy and Pad were on the scoresheet with Pad scoring 1-7 (six from frees) and Mossy scoring 0-1. Unfortunately they lost out on a final score of 1-14 to 2-22 but Dublin South Schools are an amalgamation of a number of different schools. In their second game on Wednesday they played Kilkenny CBS, the boys retained there starting places albeit Mossy moving to corner forward. Again Pad was on the scoresheet 0-7 in total and Mossy scoring 0-1. Well done to the three lads.

In the Rackard league, unfortunately our girls lost in the District final by four points.

The club is currently selling tickets for the Thousand to One draw. Three tickets for €25 so please support as it goes towards the running and development of the club.

The under-20 footballers finally play their Division 3 quarter final against Ferns St Aidan’s this Saturday at 4 p.m. in Ferns. Best of luck to the team and management of Dean Wright and Denis O’Brien.
