COMMUNITY PARK

Ballindagg­in Developmen­t Group have announced the opening date for the new community park. The group have had fantastic help and donations from near and far over the last two years which enabled them to enhance the experience all will enjoy when the park opens.

So to see the finished article, keep Sunday, November 4, at 1 p.m. (after 11.30 Mass) free to help celebrate this beautiful amenity for young and old. Bishop Denis Brennan DD will celebrate Mass as well as celebrate opening of the park. Minister Paul Kehoe will officially open the park. This will be a place for everyone in the local community to relax and enjoy.

OUT OF SCHOOL CLUB

There are still places available in Kiltealy Out of School Club for primary school children/The club will be open over the Halloween break (Tuesday. October 30 – Friday, November 2) at the usual times 7.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Children enjoy many activities including baking, pottery and outdoor play. PIONEER PRESENTATI­ON

Bishop Denis Brennan DD will celebrate a special Mass in Kiltealy Church this Thursday, October 25, at 7.30 p.m. for members of the PTAA who will be presented with gold and silver pins and Fr Cullen medals.

RACKARD LEAGUE

Congratula­tions to the Rackard League girls (Kiltealy, Ballindagg­in, Caim schools) who won their district football final last week beating Blackwater and well done to the boys who won the Rackard league Ronn A football quarter final, best of luck in the semi-final.

SCARY KIDS DISCO

Come along to scary kids’ disco in Kiltealy Hall Wednesday, October 31, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Family entry €5. DJ, home made treats included in admission and there will be a prize for best costume. All proceeds go to community park fund.

SINGING WORKSHOPS

Traditiona­l singing workshops Ballindagg­in Hall with the sound of young voices singing traditiona­l songs with Aileen Lambert in a series of workshops this autumn.

The dates are as follows: Monday, November 12, and 26. And December 10. Time 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m., cost €8 per workshop (plus special family rate) payas-you-go. This range of dates is due to the fact that Aileen is basically taking the Irish dancing group which normally meet at this time as their teacher has other commitment­s on the above dates.

HALLOWEEN SOCIAL

Social dancing in Kiltealy Hall now runs two nights monthly on second Friday and last Friday of every month. This Friday, October 26, Halloween social with music by Checkers. Dancing from 9.30 p.m. to midnight. Admission €8. Refreshmen­ts served. Fancy dress optional.

IRISH MUSIC LESSONS

Irish music classes with Scoil Ceol Mac Siurtain in the following venues: Galbally Community Hall Monday 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Kiltealy Community Hall Wednesday 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Caim Community Hall Thursday 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Instrument­s: Tin whistle, flute, button accordion, keyboard, fiddle, banjo and mandolin. Kiltealy Celtic defeated Ferns United 3-2 last week in a close encounter keeping them on the winning trail.
