Pres. Wexford crowned county futsal champions
PRESENTATION WEXFORD were crowned Wexford’s first Year FAI futsal champions last week.
Having reached the county finals after winning their qualification group the previous week, the girls repeated the trick this time out by coming out on top against Coláiste Bríde (Enniscorthy), Creagh College and Gorey Community School.
Gorey were familiar opponents for the Pres., having played each other twice the previous week; drawing in the group before Presentation came out on top in the qualifying final. Indeed, Gorey again stood in their way of victory but goals from Katie Law, and a long-range effort from Robyn Beary saw the girls over the line.
Earlier in the day, Katie Law’s goals proved the difference in 1-0 wins over Gorey and Coláiste Bríde. The North End United striker bagged a further two against Creagh College before Muireann Hynes finished it off to make it 3-0.
The team now travel to the National Indoor Arena at Abbotstown on November 21 for the Leinster finals.
Presentation (Wexford): Ciara Pierce, Robyn Beary, Tegan Fortune, Olivia Morris, Katie Law, Ellen Murphy, Muireann Hynes, Olivia Garnett.
