TIDY TOWNS
The group is looking forward to the results of the Keep Wexford beautiful competition on November 12, as the village was looking splendid all summer. We were delighted to achieve four extra points in the Tidy Towns competition this year. Thanks to the Fás workers and all the helpers who gave their time and helped to achieve this result. There is a vacancy for a Community Worker I the village at present, working 19.5 Hrs per week. Call 0402 37129 for further information. (Office Hrs only) Castletown Liam Mellows Heathy Club. Behind the Jersey Up to 100 people turned out Thursday the 18th in the Ashdown Park Hotel to an inspiring and es informative evening on the darker side of an addiction that is subtle and easily accessible to all ages. Dr Sandra Clare MC on the night spoke of the work of the Healthy Club committee and gave some stark statistics on gambling among young players. Niall McNamee former Offaly inter-county footballer spoke in depth of his own personal battle with gambling addiction and the road to recovery. Colin Smith spoke on the subconscious mind and believing in yourself. He spoke of the importance of good nutrition and some important nutrients we need to perform at our best. Thanks to all who came out and supported on the night.

Chair Yoga with a qualified instructor Sarah Dunlea. Very gentle chair yoga great for anyone who wishes to strengthen their joints and improve overall health. COMMUNITY ALERT
The annual general meeting was held in the May Byrne House on last Thursday night, where a large crow attended. The meeting was addressed by Garda Inspector Pat Coady, and local garda Liaison Officer Garda Alan Collins, Margaret Quinn Muintir na Tir Liaison Officer also attended and gave a very interesting talk on the benefits of the Com- munity Alert to the local community. Officers Elected: chairman Dan Kennedy, secretary Katriona Kinsella, Assistant secretary Helen Clare, treasurer Mary Hughes.

Even though we had a rainy start, the sun came out to give us a bright and perfect afternoon for this event. It is always a great community event where neighbours, friends and Vintage Enthusiasts gather together to make this happen. Wexford County Council is actively seeking possible sites for the construction of social housing in the vicinity of Coolgreany village. Cllr Malcolm Byrne has requested this to be a priority given the demand for housing and that Coolgreany has sewerage capacity.

WRITERS GROUP
