Michael Smith lived life to the full

-

THE SAD passing of Michael Smith, of Liam Mellows, Wexford, and formerly of Drumgoold, Enniscorthy, occurred on October 15.

Born to the late Robert and Dora Smith, he was 70 years old when he passed away.

Michael lived life to the full, including his working days on the Stena Line where he made many life long friends. He had a wide circle of friends, many of whose friendships he maintained all through his life. He especially enjoyed attending the Monday Club in Culleton’s (The Mayflower) where he met his pals for a ‘shandy’, a bit of banter, and the odd flutter on the horses.

Married to Rita, he had three children – Robert, Kenneth and Lynda. He lived for his family and, as they grew up and had families of their own, he doted on his eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Michael’s family expressed their deep gratitude to Wexford Ambulance Service, Wexford Gardai, Macken’s Funeral Home, Dr David Curtis, Ea- monn Culleton and Eddie Carty of Culleton’s Bar, Robert Miller and Margaret Cahill of the Talbot Hotel, Anthony and Annette in Londis Coolcotts, their great neighbours in Liam Mellows Park, and their friends for their thoughtful kindness at such a sad time.

Michael is survived by his wife Rita, his sons Robert and Kenneth, his daughter Lynda, his daughters-in-law Caroline and Stephanie, his son-in-law Patrick Duggan, his sister Margaret, his grandchildren Philip, Bronwyn, Michelle, Andrew, Scott, Mai, Brooklyn and Luke, and his great-grandson Charlie.
