KILDAVIN-CLONEGAL GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of the Kildavin-Clonegal GAA. Lotto jackpot of €6,400, held on Sunday, November 11. Numbers drawn were 01, 12, 21 and 24. Winner that matched three was Declan Tobin, receiving €150. The seller’s prize goes to Margaret Doyle, receiving €50.

DEEPEST SYMPATHY

The village of Clonegal, Tullow, Bunclody and the wider community was saddened to hear the death of Joe Byrne, St Brigid’s Tce, Clonegal, who passed away on Tuesday, November 6, at the age of 76. Joe died peacefully, surrounded by his family and close friends. Beloved son of the late Paddy and Margaret. Sadly missed by his sister Mary, brothers-in-law, niece, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposed at Lennon’s Funeral Home, Bunclody on Thursday. Removal on Friday to St Brigid’s Church, Clonegal for Funeral Mass, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace.

The village of Clonegal was saddened to hear the death of Nora Byrne, Parkbridge, Clonegal, who passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 6. Predecease­d by her loving husband Billy. Sadly missed by her daughters Samantha, Sharon and Valerie, her son TJ, sisters and brother, sons-in-law, Shane and Mick, T.J’s partner Mary and her grandchild­ren Ella, Aaron, Eve, Killian and Sophie. Reposed at her daughter Sharon’s residence in Ratheengra­ney, Clonegal on Thursday. Removal on Sunday to St Brigid’s Church, Clonegal for Funeral Mass, burial afterwards in the new cemetery. May she rest in peace.

RURAL SOCIAL SCHEME

The Rural Social Scheme provides income support for qualifying farmers and Fishermen, who are in receipt of specified social-welfare payments, in return for 191/2 hours on the community each week.

There are two RSS positions available in the area. To qualify you must be: Actively farming or fishing Be in receipt of Farm Assist or Job Seekers Allowance Must Apply to the EU Basic Payment Scheme if you do not ordinarily apply for BPS and applicatio­n can be made to join the Scheme.
