Cooking up a storm at Link Training

-

KITCHENS across Enniscorthy have been put to good use trying a range of new and different dishes in recent weeks as participants of the ‘Cook It’ Course offered by Link Training took their work home with them.

Over ten participants were recently presented with their certificates and a special cookbook on completing the course at the Link Training offices in Templeshannon. They were all congratulated by Health Promotion Officer at Wexford County Council Deirdre Howlin, who handed over the certificates to the smiling recipients.

Breda Ryan, who delivered the three month course, said that the students were an enthusiastic bunch and seemed to really enjoy it.

‘Basically the course aims to give everyone the chance and the know-how to cook tasty, healthy dishes. Over the three months, we focused on topics like eating healthy, vegetarian options and food hygiene as well as generally promoting a healthy lifestyle and exercise.’

As well as their certs, each participant received a ‘101 Square Meals’ cookbook to provide them with some culinary inspiration over the festive period and they are also now taking part in Christmas Baking classes with Breda, focusing on delicious treats like Christmas cakes and mince pies. Link Training are hoping to offer similar courses in the near future and people are encouraged to drop into the office in Templeshannon for more details.
