Port hit a late leveller against the leaders

Leaders Glynn Barntown had to settle for a share of the spoils on Sunday when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Rosslare Port.

Fionn Cooney came off the bench to fire the table-toppers in front, but Garry Firman struck for a deserved equaliser for Port with seven minutes remaining.

Second-placed Adamstown failed to capitalise as they lost out 2-1 away to Enniscorthy United. Goals from Niall Thorpe and Willie Dobbs had the hosts two goals to the good at halftime and, although Ian White pulled one back from the penalty spot, Adamstown couldn’t force an equaliser.

Seamie McLoughlin and Adam Sinnott got the goals for Taghmon United as they chalked up an impressive 2-0 win over Ferns United.

Curracloe United and Crossabeg came away with a point apiece after a 3-3 draw, with Robbie Staples, Conor Hearne and Brian O’Connor scoring for the seasiders and Cian Boggan, Theo Doyle and Kenny Kavanagh hitting the back of the net for visitors.

Shelburne United picked up what was only their second win of the campaign, with Brian Minogue and Paudie Lynch (penalty) getting their goals in a 2-0 victory over Killenagh Wanderers.

Division3

Shamrock Rovers closed the gap on runaway leaders Gorey Rangers to eight points when edging out Wexford Celtic 3-2 at Sinnottstown Lane on Sunday.

Peter Collins, Seán Wildes and Jack Carroll scored for the Enniscorthy side, with Seán Tyrell and Alan Browne hitting the back of the net for the hosts.

St. Joseph’s and Bree United shared the spoils after a six-goal thriller, with Des Mythen, Gary O’Leary and Lee Murphy scoring for Joey’s and Noel Roche (two) and Dylan Dalton doing the needful for Bree.

A Paddy Kavanagh goal was enough for Bunclody to win in Rathnure, while Duncannon romped to a 5-0 victory over Raheen with doubles from Michael O’Grady and Damien O’Grady plus a goal from Keith Donnelly.

Division3A

Rosslare Strand fought back from 3-1 down to earn a share of the spoils against fellow Division 3A title-hopefuls Ajax Athletic on Sunday.

Liam Moore, Jack Hanley and Fenwick O’Shea hit the back of the net for the Rajahs, while Adam Buckley, Conor Clancy and Danny O’Reilly got on the scoresheet for Strand.

Forth Celtic also had to be content with a point as they were held to a 1-1 draw away to Rosslare Rangers, with Andy Cummins scoring for the hosts and William Doyle on target for Forth.

Chris Downes, Luke O’Neill, Aaron Donovan and Shane Bergin grabbed a goal apiece as Wexford Bohs saw off Oylegate United 4-2.

A double from John Codd earned All Blacks a 2-1 away win over Ballymurn Celtic, with Paul Larrissy scoring for the hosts.

Elsewhere, Fethard got themselves off the bottom of the table as they leapfrogged Bridge Rovers after beating the Castlebridge side 3-2.

Trevor Foley scored from the halfway line for Fethard, with Jean-Luc Tubritt adding a double and Evan Devereux (penalty) and Jody Hynes replying for Rovers.

Division4

Rosbercon United are three points clear at the top of Division 4 after edging out Camolin Celtic 3-2 on Sunday.

Jamie St. Ledger scored a double for the leaders, with Philip O’Connor adding their other goal and Peter McSwiney and Ashley Tully replying for Camolin.

Darragh Kenny and Jack Freegrove got the goals for Courtown Hibs in their 2-0 win over Crossabeg, while a Gary Breslin double saw Ferns United beat Kiltealy Celtic by the same scoreline.

Danny Byrne and Aaron Mythen hit the back of the net for Campile United as they earned a 2-1 win in Curracloe, with Gary Breslin scoring for the hosts.

Division4A

Enniscorthy United fought back from falling behind to earn an impressive 3-1 win against St. Joseph’s on Sunday.

Dillon Kearns fired Joey’s in front, but United didn’t let their heads drop and replied through Darren Walsh, an own goal and Billy Millar.

Tombrack United had too much firepower for Rosslare Port, with William Dunne, Eoghan Murphy and Harry Fitzgibbon (two) getting their goals in a 4-0 win.

Taghmon United edged out Castledockrell 3-2 with goals from Jamie Cahill (two) and Ger Power.

Killenagh Wanderers raced into a 3-0 advantage over St. Leonards with goals from Jordan Goff, Eoin Whelan and Stephen Doran, and although a Matty Flynn double brought the saints right back into the contest, Wanderers held on for victory.

Division5

St. Cormac’s continue to lead the way in Division 5 after overcoming Ajax Athletic 4-0 on Sunday. Ryan O’Brien netted a double for the saints and Nathan Dickson and Robbie Donnelly chipped in with a goal apiece.

A John Kane goal wwas enough for Bunclody to edge out New Ross Town, while Wexford Bohs won 3-0 in Ferns with goals from Johnny Conway (two) and Jesse Kells.

Ryan Lynch, John Browne and Mikey Hanrahan hit the back of the net for Wexford Celtic, but they were pipped 4-3 by Shamrock Rovers.
