How our four leaders are getting on with their training regimes

-

LIAM DOYLE

So into our fifth week now and I’m delighted with the improvement I’m finding in myself. We had training on Saturday with Sean in Nolan Health and Fitness, another tough session where we were put through our paces, and on Tuesday we had pilates with Jane in Wexford Pilates Studio which I’m finding great.

It’s fantastic to have the use of these amazing facilities. We did the Tara Bishop Memorial 5k fun run in Ballymurn on Sunday and I was delighted with myself to complete the run without stopping once so my fitness is definitely improving already.

This Saturday we’re training at the Sports Hub in Enniscorthy so looking forward to seeing what’s in store for us. Please don’t forget to register.

CAROLINE FLEMING

Started the week great but wasn’t following the plan and not taking my rest days and by Thursday I felt I was totally exhausted so won’t be making that mistake again.

Loving the Pilates with Jane on Tuesday nights and the swimming in the Waterfront pool. We all meet in Nolan’s Gym on Saturday for a training session and on Sunday I did my first 5k run in Ballymurn, the Tara Bishop Memorial run.

I’ve a long way to go to be ready for a 10k but still 10 weeks left of training and I’m absolutely thrilled to have done my first 5k. Will be sure to take my rest days this week and stick with the programme.

HELEN RYAN

I’ve had another good week all in all, doing my training plan in Nolan’s gym and boxercise classes at Sacre Coeur boxing club. I

also walked Mount Leinster on Saturday with a friend for the first time which was much harder than I thought it would be!

The soreness in my muscles after it, led me to miss a day running which I then tried to make up for by overdoing training the other days which was a mistake as it put too much pressure on my joints. So I’m learning to listen more to my body and give it rest when its needed rather than doubling up training!

DENISE FARRELL

This week was my best so far. I am finding I am getting a little bit fitter, can do so much more now than four weeks ago. I love all the different types of training Kevin and Sean are doing with us. Pilates was much harder but so enjoyable. And thanks to the physiotherapy for helping with our sore legs. Eating healthy but not losing a pound yet, ha!

Delighted with all the oppertunities we are getting being leaders.
