NEWROSSLADIES

-

Wednesday, January 30, 14-hole stableford sponsored by Ray French: 1, Anne Curtis Adm. (20), 28 points; 2, Peggy Hill (30), 28 – 1 penalty point = 27 points; 3, Marguerite Sutton (17), 26 – 1 penalty point = 25 points.

This week’s competition on Wednesday, February 6, is 14-hole stableford sponsored by Lulu Boutique.

There are lines on the timesheet for the nine-hole competition also.

There will be a presentation on Wednesday, February 6, at 7.30 p.m. which will cover all the competitions from January 9. There is a list of winners to date in the hallway to the ladies’ locker room. We ask all prize-winners to attend.

The presentation of prizes will be followed by an input from Mary Dowling on teams and team management, and also the impact of the new rules of golf on matchplay. We hope to see lots of lady members in the clubhouse on that night.

The final round of the winter league has to be played by Wednesday, February 13. The competition is exciting with current scores very close, so get out there ladies and do your best for your team!

The Captains’ drive-in will take place on Sunday, February 17. Following on the success of a very sociable event last year, there will be a mixed foursomes competition once again to start off the season.

This year’s drive-in is once again sponsored by Creacon Lodge who were very generous sponsors last year.

Members wishing to take part should enter their names in the Pro Shop by Thursday, February 14. A draw for partners will take place on the Thursday evening.

The drive-in will begin at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start so all teams finish together. This will be followed by a meal and presentation in the clubhouse.

The cost is €15 to include a three-course meal (main course, dessert and coffee). We look forward to an enjoyable day and hopefully the weather will be kind to us.
