Cheltenham preview night a sure thing!

-

A Cheltenham preview night will take place in the Riverside Park Hotel on Saturday, March 2, at 7.30 p.m. and it’s being organised as a fundraising event for Cloughbawn GAA club.

The event was officially launched in the hotel by representatives of the club, the duty manager of the hotel, Aileen Nolan, and Sean Flanagan, who will be one of the panellists on the night.

Speaking to this newspaper about the event one of the organising committee, Colm Kehoe, said it should be a great night out and will be an entertaining event for everyone - not just horse racing enthusiasts.

Tickets, priced €20, are now available from the venue and from the Cloch Ban in Clonroche.

‘All the proceeds will go towards the club,’ said Mr Kehoe.

‘There will be door prize, sponsored by Cooney-Furlong, and there will be a raffle and lots of spot prizes,’ he added.

On the night various aspects of Cheltenham will be highlighted and previewed and there will be form analysis by a panel of leading industry experts.

‘We will look at the main fancies and hotly tipped horses and there will be a video showing some of the horses’ recent form,’ said Mr Kehoe.

Some of the prizes up for grabs in the raffle will include a four-ball at Bunclody Golf Club, two tickets for the Punchestown Festival and two tickets to the St Patrick’s Day meeting at Wexford Race Course.

Anyone wishing to enquire about tickets can do so by contacting Mr Kehoe directly on 087-6268369 or CJ Foyle on 087-2420599.
