The club has provided a social outlet for generations of young men within the New Ross area. A committee member said: `All past and present members or anyone associated with the club over the years are all welcome to come along and celebrate this momentous event with us.’ DES BISHOP - TAKE THE POINTS: An adopted Wexfordian owing to his time studying at St Peter’s College, comedian Des Bishop always receives a warm welcome to his old stomping ground and this Saturday will be no different as he returns to the stage of The National Opera House. While ‘Take the Points’ is good advice on the pitch, it’s an even better metaphor for life - particularly when you don’t take advice well. Des’ new show tries to digest the incredible changes we have seen in society over the past year and a half - consent, Trump, the 8th and how everyone and everything is now online. Always a hit in Wexford, it promises to be a great night! Tickets are €25 from www.nationaloperahouse.ie.
