Trade bridge is opening the US market for W ex ford companies

-

HAVING developed a unique trade corridor between Wexford, the South East and Savannah, Georgia, in the US, since its formation in April of last year, Tradebridge has been providing unique export opportunities for Wexford companies.

Recently Tradebridge teamed up with the ‘Savannah Gateway Regional Showcase’, which is an initiative to provide new trade and investment opportunities for businesses from Wexford and the South East to export and expand into the US using Savannah as a gateway.

One local company currently winning new export orders as a result of opportunities created by Tradebridge is Survipod Engineering Solutions. Horetown native James Reville said that Tradebridge has provided them with a major boost.

‘ Through our involvement in Tradebridge, last November we appointed a US Distributor called Ram Tools. Ram Tools are a hugely successful and growing company; already we have won two significant orders from them. While we started with the Savannah branch our distributor has over 40 branches in 15 States,’ he said. ‘We are just back from visiting the four busiest locations and now our Survipod range has been well received in several states. We are absolutely delighted that we got involved in Tradebridge which opened doors for us quicker than we could ever have imagined.

Alison Stone Thompson, Development Officer for Tradebridge, noted that Survipod are a great example of the kind of company that can really benefit from being involved in Tradebridge.

‘Survipod Engineering Solutions Ltd have a proven product and experience of exporting having already established a market in the UK,’ she said. ‘ They are ambitious and organised with a strategic plan focused on developing the US market.’

Head of Enterprise at Wexford County Council Tom Banville added that they are over the moon with the success that Tradebridge has enjoyed in a short period of time and the opportunities they have opened up for local businesses.

‘Wexford County Council is very happy with the success and incremental opportunities Tradebridge has brought to local businesses within such a short time-frame,’ he said.

Brendan Ennis, CEO of Wex- ford Enterprise Centre who founded Tradebridge, explained that the current open call for competitive applications for the Savannah Regional Gateway is best suited to local companies who already have export experience and see the US as the next stage of their expansion plans. Interested Companies should apply at savannahgatewayshowcase.com or contact alison@wexsavtradebridge.com Applications need to be submitted on or by February 28.
