Scurri raises €1.34m for continued growth

-

WEXFORD based online logistics company Scurri has managed to secure €1.34 million of a planned €2 million-plus in fundraising to support its continued growth.

Among the participants in the latest fundraising are previous backers Act Venture Capital,

Episode 1 Ventures and Irish tech mogul Pa Nolan.

Founded by Rory O’Connor back in 2010, Scurri has raised about €7 million to date and has developed a cloud-based software platform that makes it easier for e-commerce merchants to deliver goods to customers. The technology helps power millions of parcel deliveries for companies such as Ebay, VisionDirect, Asos and Littlewoods, selecting the most effective delivery option, creating accurate labels, tracking packages and also providing analytics for merchants.

Back in 2016, Scurri signed a multi-million euro deal to provide bar-coding services for Fastway and Parcel Connect. The company has enjoyed huge growth, with Mr O’Connor saying that they are ‘ touching on 100% growth year-on-year’ in recent years. Given the company’s expertise in customs documentation, it seems this growth is destined to continue in the wake of Brexit.

The company employs 30 people and has plans to greatly increase this over the next two years. Fellow Wexford native David Dempsey, country manager of Salesforce, has recently been appointed to the board.

‘We have very ambitious plans and having someone like David on-board can only help us given all he has achieved at Salesforce,’ said Mr O’Connor.
