GAA NOTES

Under-seven hurling training for boys and girls has started back on Monday nights in the indoor arena from 6.15 p.m. to 7 p.m. All players should have a hurl, helmet and wear boots when training inside. The cost of each training session is €2 per child. under-nine hurling training is on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. in the indoor arena.

The draw for the 2019 Leinster League was made recently with the lads playing in Division 2 this season. They reached the final last year just losing out to Éire Óg from Kildare. They will play them again this season. The two other teams they have been drawn against is Black and Whites from Kilkenny and Ballinamere from Offaly.

The €200 club is starting shortly and we are hoping that you can all help us in supporting our main fundraising draw for further development in the pitch.

50 years ago this week, the Wexford district draw took place, in junior football we were drawn against St Mary’s Maudlintown, in junior hurling St Brigid’s B were drawn to play Faythe Harriers while the first team were given a bye.

Our under-21 hurlers/footballers played with St Ibar’s and played in Enniscorthy district.

We are still on the lookout for any old memorabilia in the parish? We would love to photograph any old medal especially one of the 1899 or 1901 Leinster or all-Ireland final medals, there must be one floating around the parish? Even any old jerseys.
