HOW OUR FOUR LEADERS ARE GETTING ON WITH THEIR FINAL TRAINING REGIMES

So just over a week to go on this amazing journey and I can’t wait for the day to come. Sadly conditions on Saturday were not suitable to hike up Lugnaquilla mountain so we were put through our paces in the Raven Wood in Curracloe by Kevin which doesn’t get any easier.

This Friday we are meeting Martina for our final weigh in and Saturday morning we have our final training session as a group in Nolan Health and Fitness. Please don’t forget to register and take part in this amazing event.

Another good week thankfully, we met Kevin in Curracloe on Saturday and had our training session in the Raven Wood, we were allowed bring a friend so big thanks to Theresa for coming along.

Kevin really pushed us but it was also a good laugh! Can’t thank him enough for all he has done for us over the last few months. Last April I had a hysterectomy, little did I think a year later I’d be taking on a 10k run. Still not too late to register and a massive thank you to everyone for their sponsorship.

As we’re so close to April 7 now the excitement is building! I was doing my running on the route last week in Enniscorthy doing 4 miles of it and unfortunately my calves didn’t like it and decided to take a couple of days off for themselves which meant I missed our Saturday training in Curracloe with Kevin which I was disappointed about as I love going to the Raven.

I’m looking forward to our training this weekend and seeing everyone, it really has been great to meet the other leaders and everyone who has helped us train and go on this journey together, I’ll be sad when it’s all over but hope we’ll continue to meet up and do the odd 10k together!

Only a week to go. It’s great the race is just around the corner but a shame it has come so fast at the same time. I could do with another six weeks to get ready for it.

Kevin brought us all to Ravens Point. Starting off with a 30 minute jog, the 100 metre sprints (Which nearly killed me) and when I thought we were finished he brought us for an obstacle course in the forest; squats, lunges, weights, kettlebells and more running. There is no way of push myself as much without the rest of the group. Great session, loved it.
