A message from our race director

-

As we all count down the last few days to Hope and Dream 10 2019, it is a huge honour for me to be part of the team who have worked, over many months, to ensure that every single person who participates on April 7, will know how much their support means to the Hope Cancer Support Centre, and Wexford Hospice Homecare.

This year we add a vibrant red t-shirt to our ‘clothes line’, each colour reminding us of the wonderful eight years since Tom, John and Alan organised the first Hope and Dream 10, in 2012.

I have the pleasure of chatting on the phone to many people who have a question about the event, many also tell me their personal reason for wanting to take part. Can I run, walk, jog either of the routes?

Whatever you’re comfortable with.

Will there be marshals on the route to guide me? Yes, over 80 willing volunteers to cheer you on.

How many people are involved in putting the event together?

Over 200 friends of Hope and Dream 10, happy to help. All co-ordinated in the Hope Centre by Denise. How are the costs taken care of? Generous local sponsors, who ensure that every cent raised, goes to Hope Cancer Centre, and Wexford Hospice Homecare.

Are you proud of the fact that this year the total money raised over the past 8 years will be over One Million Euro ?

Not proud, but deeply humbled by the generosity of everyone who supports us.

Thank you to every person who has helped in any way to make it possible for us to host Hope and Dream 10, 2019.

If you have not already registered, please do, you have to experience the event to truly appreciate the friendship and feeling of joy that comes with being part of a group of over 2,000 people, each with their own story to tell - walking, jogging, running, laughing, chatting. remembering a loved one - along the banks of the Slaney, and the beautiful countryside around Enniscorthy.

Always remember, if we do nothing, nothing will happen. Michael Jordan
