Fixtures for the week: Sunday Minor Hurling Championsh­ip v Shamrocks/Davidstown 11 a.m., Home. In the afternoon round two of the junior football championsh­ip at 3.30 in Bree v Davidstown-Courtnacud­dy.

The junior footballer­s lost by just a minimum to Castletown in the league. The lads were losing by eight at one stage in the second half but made a stirring comeback to level but just missed out in the end. Scorers Conor Sutton 0-5, Ben Redmond 1-0, Kerill Sutton 1-0 peno, Dean Wright 0-2, Kevin O’Brien 0-1, Paul O’Leary 0-1, Declan O’Leary 0-1.

The minor hurlers put in a strong last 10 minutes to win 3-12 to 1-7 against Ferns in the second of the championsh­ip. The lads missing a number of players through injury and the sides were level till the last till a goal from Brian Óg pushed us in front. Scorers were Brian Óg 1-6 (0-4 frees), Ross Berry 1-1, Johnny O’Toole 1-1, Adam Murphy 0-2 (0-1 65), Séamus Walsh 0-2, Jimmy Whelan 0-1.

25 years ago this week, the Wexford District Draw took place. In Junior B hurling Blackwater were drawn against Crossabeg-Ballymurn in the preliminar­y round. In junior b football, we were drawn against volunteers. In under-21 hurling we were drawn against Crossabeg-Ballymurn while in under-21 football we were down to play Shelmalier­s. Seán Ormonde was on the committee for the season.

MACRA NA FEIRME REUNION

This year is the 70th Anniversar­y of Macra Na Feirme in County Wexford. To mark this wonderful achievemen­t we are organising a Macra reunion and dinner dance on Saturday, April 13, in the Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorth­y at 7.30 p.m. Tickets can be booked by contacting Sarah at 085 113308. We are also reaching out to past Wexford Macra members for any pictures they might have from their time in Macra. These can be emailed to wexfordmac­ra19@hotmail.com. support at the recent church gate collection; €283 was collected in Glenbrien and €256 in Oylegate. Thanks to all those who collected and supported the collection.

SOCIAL DANCING

The next date for social dancing is April 14 in the Oylegate Community Centre at 8, 30 Music will be provided by John Fleming, Admission €8.

CAMOGIE TRAINING TIMES

Under-eight/under-10/under-12 Training will start back on Monday, April 1, at 6, 30 p.m. New members are allways welcome, just come along to training.

VILLAGE RENEWAL GROUP

An informatio­n morning will take place in the Old School Centre on Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. This is an open invitation to all the Community {children included} to drop in for a chat about all the work that has been completed and the future direction of the group.

It is hoped with new interest and fresh ideas it will be possible to futher develop and complete the public Amenity Area.
