Premier Division

Title favourites Shamrock Rovers got another three points in the bag on Sunday as they earned a 3-0 win away to Bunclody.

John O’Connor, Emmett Quirke and Ricky Dwyer got the goals for the Premier Division leaders.

Moyne Rangers remain five points behind their local rivals, with a game in hand, after seeing off Forth Celtic 3-1 in Murrintown.

Tomás ‘Mossy’ Mahon netted two penalties for the Enniscorthy side, while Graham Donohoe also hit the back of the net for the winners, with Lee Busher replying for Forth.

North End United kept their hopes alive with two wins. The first came in midweek when they chalked up a 5-0 victory against bottom side Bridge Rovers, thanks to a goal from Paul ‘Spot’ Murphy and doubles from Alan Rhodes and Shane Dempsey.

They followed it up with a 2-1 triumph over Courtown Hibs on Sunday, with Robin Dempsey and Dale Flynn scoring for the Sky Blues and Michael Kavanagh replying for Hibs.

Gorey Rangers also added six points to their tally as they saw off local rivals Courtown Hibs 2-1 in midweek thanks to a Glen O’Brien double, with Matty Kavanagh hitting the back of the net in reply.

They then edged out Bridge Rovers 3-2 on Sunday, with Gary Murphy (two) and Ryan Cullen getting the goals for Rangers, with the Castlebridge men replying through Mark Mythen and an own goal.

An injury time strike from Aaron Lambert saw Wexford Bohs edge out Rosslare Rangers 3-2 after they had let a 2-0 lead slip.

Bohs looked to have the points in the bag after Andy Moore and Aaron Lambert hit the back of the net, but late strikes from Shane Pettit and Lee Devereux looked to have rescued a point for Rosslare Rangers.

Lambert had the final say, however, grabbing the winner to turn the tide back in Bohs’ favour.
