1 FRANKIE’S GUYS: The wonderful music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons will be brought to life on stage at The National Opera House this Saturday night at 8 p.m. Wayne Whelan and Zac Global Promotions are delighted to present ‘Oh What A Night: A Celebratio­n of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons’. Having enjoyed a sold-out run in Dublin’s Tivoli Theatre, this energetic production pays tribute to the legendary music of rock n’ roll hall of famers Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons putting their charismati­c stamp on timeless classics such as ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, ‘Walk Like A Man’, ‘Sherry’ and ‘Oh What A Night’ and taking you on a nostalgic trip down memory lane. The show promises big energy, slick choreograp­hy, charisma, audience participat­ion and sing-a-longs a-plenty with amazing vocals from a group of natural born performers. Tickets for the show have been selling fast, but a limited amount are still available, priced at €25 from www.nationalop­erahouse.ie or from the Opera House box office on 053 91 22144. 2 STABAT MATER: Wexford Festival Singers are set to present a special choral concert at Rowe Street Church this Sunday, featuring Pergolesi’s masterpiec­e ‘Stabat Mater’, as well as ‘Agnus Dei’ by local composer Liam Bates, which is one movement from an oratario, ‘Victus’, which they plan to commission from Liam. Wexford Festival Singers will be joined by Enniscorth­y Choral Society for the Palm Sunday Concert which will kick of at 3.30 p.m. ‘Stabat mater’ has been described as a transcende­ntly beautiful and deeply personal musical meditation of suffering and redemption. Tickets are priced at €15 from www. wexfordart­scentre.ie. 3 ALL FOR ME GROG: Fans of The Dubliners are in for a special treat on Saturday as a talented troupe of Galway based musicians arrive at Wexford Arts Centre with a tribute to one of Ireland’s greatest musical acts. The two hour show features faithful recreation­s of such classics as ‘The Black Velvet Band’, ‘McAlpine’s Fusiliers’, ‘The Irish Rover’, ‘Seven Drunken Nights’ and more. Tickets from www. wexfordart­scentre.ie. 4 CALAMITY JANE: Gorey Musical Society will stage this comical western musical, nightly at 8 p.m. until Saturday April 13, at Gorey Little Theatre, with the lead part of the heroine played Lydnsey Tyndall. John Young will play the part of Wild Bill Hickock, the true love of Calamity Jane and together they will have to keep the peace, to help Henry Miller of the local saloon. Full of fun, singing and dancing, musical numbers include ‘Black Hills of Dakota’ and ‘Windy City’. 5 SOUND OF MUSIC SHOW: Horeswood Musical Society present Rogers and Hammerstei­n’s `The Sound of Music’ from Thursday till Sunday night included in Campile Hall. With a cast of 85 from 7 to 19 years of age, the cast and choruses are excited to bring this most entertaini­ng musical production. Admission is €10 for adults, €7 for children and students and €30 for a family (2 adults, 2 children). Part of the profits will go to Senior Citizens Concern CLG Ramsgrange. To book your tickets, ring 086 0703257. 6 MACRA REUNION: The 70th anniversar­y of Macra na Feirme in Co Wexford will be marked with an anniversar­y reunion event in the Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorth­y. The event, which will take the form of a dinner dance, will take place at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. The event is open to all current and former members of the organisati­on throughout the county and it promises to be a great night out. It will give people an opportunit­y to renew acquaintan­ces and make new friends. Tickets for the reunion dinner can be booked through Sarah on 085 113308. 7 THE ULTIMATE EAGLES: Having previously gone down a storm in the beautiful surroundin­gs of the National Opera House, The Ultimate Eagles return with their faithful recreation of a live show from one of the most iconic bands of all time on Friday night. The Eagles are a band that need little introducti­on. With a back catalogue featuring gems such as ‘Take It Easy’, ‘One of These Nights’, ‘Tequila Sunrise’, ‘Desperado’ and the ubiquitous ‘Hotel California’, they are held among the world’s best.
