HOPE CANCER CENTRE CD

Singer Peter Hughes of Galbally has produced a five track CD in aid of the Hope Centre, Enniscorth­y. The CD, which includes his No.1 Hit single ‘Keep on the Sunny Side’, is on sale locally and in the Cancer Support Shop on Mill Park Road, Enniscorth­y at €10. Support would be appreciate­d.

BREE ICA

The AGM of Bree ICA will be held in Bree Community Centre on April 16 at 8 p.m. A committee meeting will be held on April 9 at 8 p.m.

GAA REGISTRATI­ON

Ballyhogue GAA registrati­on night on this Wednesday from 6.45 to 7.20 p.m. in GAA complex.

EASTER MONDAY FUN IN GALBALLY

Get your ducks for the Galbally Sports and Leisure Club’s duck race. The event will be held on Monday, April 22, at Wilton Mills, Craan. The race will start at 3 p.m., with ducks costing €10 each.

On the same day, Monday, April 22, there will be an indoor and outdoor market/car boot sale on from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. €15 per stall/pitch. For enquiries and bookings contact Dawn at 087 8306206.

Join the fun, take part in the Easter egg hunt and meet the Easter bunny. All funds raised go towards the renovation of Galbally Hall. Come along and contribute to the renovation of our local hall and the rejuvenati­on of our local community.

BREE PLAYGROUND FUNDRAISER

Phase two of the Bree Playground has been approved and is due for completion by the end of April. Support is needed to share the responsibi­lity of the monitoring and paying for our playground. Donations are welcome on instagram or Facebook app ‘gofundme.com/breeplaygr­ound’. Your support for this wonderful new facility for all children in our locality would be very much appreciate­d.

MACRA REUNION

Wexford Macra na Feirme are organising a Reunion and dinner dance to celebrate their 70th Anniversar­y. The event will take place in the Riverside Park Hotel on Saturday, April 13, at 7.30 p.m.

All past and current members of Bree Macra are encouraged to come along and enjoy the memories as we take Macra in Wexford into the next decade.

COMMUNITY GAMES NEWS

Best wishes to all local participan­ts involved in quiz, Swimming and Talent county finals coming up shortly. Entries are still open for the Talent, Pitch and Putt and handball till April 11.

Well done to all participan­ts taking part in the recent Handwritin­g and art county finals. Orlaith Flynn won a silver medal in the under-12 Handwritin­g. Ava Carberry won the bronze medal in under-eight art, Luke Jordan won silver in the under-10 Art and Sam Devereux won gold in the under-10 Art. Sam will represent the local area and Co Wexford at the national finals in Limerick in May.

BREE AC NEWS

Outdoor training for Bree AC athletes takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in Ballyhogue GAA Grounds. Little Athletics for 4-8 years has resumed on Mondays only in the top field from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The next outing for the club will be St Senan’s AC Open Sports on Easter Monday. Congratula­tions to Darra Casey on winning the gold medal in the National Indoor under-17 60m Hurdles in Athlone recently.

SCHOOLS REPORT

Well done to students of Scoil Mhuire NS Ballyhogue, who took part in the An Taisce National Spring Clean on Wednesday last. The children picked several bags of rubbish from the local area.

BALLYHOGUE GAA LOTTO

The numbers drawn were 11, 12, 23 and 26. No jackpot winner. Match-three winners €35 each: Ciaran and Anne O’Dowd, Nicholas and Eithne Doyle, Breda Cahill.

Bree Bingo Bree Bingo continues every Tuesday at 9 p.m. in Byrnes of Bree. €10 per book and extra bonus sheets will be sold on the night for €2.

GALBALLY TRACTOR RUN

The annual Galbally Tractor Run will take place on Sunday, May 26.
