Easter in the Churches
A number of church services will take place throughout the Enniscorthy area in the run-up to Easter Sunday.
The mass and service times will take place in the following churches:
ST AIDAN’S CATHEDRAL:
Tuesday, April 16 - mass at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and Chrism Mass at 8 p.m.; Wednesday, April 17 - mass at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.; Good Friday, April 19 - children’s service at 12 noon and the Lord’s passion at 3 p.m. with prayer around the cross at 7 p.m.; Holy Saturday - penance service at 12 noon and Easter vigil at 9 p.m.; Easter Sunday, April
21 - masses at 9.30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.;
ST SENAN’S CHURCH:
Holy Thursday, April 18 - Mass for Lord’s supper at 7.30 p.m. followed by adoration of the blessed sacrament (confessions will also be available); - Good Friday, April 19 - the Lord’s Passion at 3 p.m. and the Way of the cross to Vinegar Hill at 6 p.m. from the church; Saturday, April 20 - Easter vigil at 7.30 p.m.; Easter Sunday, April 21 - Vinegar Hill service at 8.30 a.m. (weather permitting) with blessing of salt at 10.30 a.m.;
ENNISCORTHY AND MONART UNION:
Wednesday, April 17 - Taize service in St Paul’s church, Clone at 7.30 p.m.; Maundy Thursday Eucharist, April 18 - St Peter’s Church, Monart, 7.30 p.m.; Good Friday liturgy, April 19 - St Mary’s Church, Enniscorthy, at 7.30 p.m.; Holy Saturday, April 20 - St Paul’s Church, Templescoby, at 7.30 p.m.; Easter Day, Sunday, April 21 - St John’s Church, Clonmore, 9.45 a.m. and St Mary’s Church, Enniscorthy, at 11.30 a.m. There will also be Holy Week prayer stations on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, in St Mary’s Church, Enniscorthy, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and parishioners are invited to just drop in as they wish.
