BRING AND BUY COFFEE MORNING

The annual St Mary’s Day Care Bring and Buy and coffee morning will take place on Holy Thursday, April 18, in the Day Care Centre, Ryland Road, Bunclody from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. There will be a raffle and coffee morning; cake and home produce stall; crafts, knitting, crochet and jewellery;bags, belts and books. Home baking and home produce accepted on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. Please drop in and support this worthwhile local cause.

CAMPAIGN LAUNCH

TD Dara Calleary Deputy Leader of Fianna Fail was in Bunclody on Thursday evening to launch Barbara-Anne Murphy’s Local Election campaign in River’s Edge. Among those in attendance were Deputy Dara Calleary, Deputy James Browne, Senator Mark Daly, Cllrs Keith Doyle, Willie Kavanagh, Joe Sullivan and Malcolm Byrne, who is the Party’s European election candidate in the South East. The large attendance are supportive of Cllr Barbara-Anne and will be out canvassing for her re-election to Wexford County Council over the next six weeks. Polling day is Friday, May 24, so please remember to get out and vote to keep a local councillor in the Bunclody area.

NATIONAL SPRING CLEAN

An Taisce National Spring Clean will take place in Bunclody on Saturday, April 27, meeting on the square at public toilets at 11 a.m. We are looking for volunteers to come out and support us in this clean-up. Any groups interested can contact Teresa at 087 7030627 or Lucy 086 3464940.

The annual general meeting of Bunclody Tidy Towns is being held in Redmond’s Loft on Thursday, May 9, at 8 p.m. All welcome.

BUNCLODY VOCATIONAL COLLEGE

A fashion show will be held in Bunclody Golf and fishing club on Friday, May 10, at 8 p.m. A great night is promised. Tickets cost €10 and are available through the school. Door prizes and raffle on the night.

A used clothes collection takes place in the school on Wednesday, May 22. This is a great way to de-clutter for summer. Those donating five or more bags will be entered into a draw to win a €100 voucher for the Ferrycarri­g Hotel, Wexford.

Bunclody ICA held their monthly meeting on April 8 in the Pastoral Centre. President Bridget Murphy opened the meeting with a prayer and singing My Land.

Sympathy was extended to Teresa Murphy on the death of her nephew Michael Foley. Get well wishes were expressed to Mary Stamp and Willie Kelly.

Catherine O’Neill, secretary, read the minutes. After the usual business of the meeting, the following officers were elected to serve the guild for the coming year: president Bridget Murphy, secretary Catherine O’Neill, treasurer Lily Power, PRO Mary Cullen. The winner of the competitio­n was Catherine O’Neill and Bridget Murphy won the raffle.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, May 13, in the Pastoral Centre and the competitio­n will be ‘Favourite Indoor Plant’.

BUNCLODY SWIMMING POOL DRAW

The next draw takes place in early April and your support to keep Bunclody Open Air Pool in tip top condition will be very much appreciate­d. Entry to the draw costs €10 per month or €40 for the remaining four months.

CPR TRAINING

The Irish Heart Foundation Hands For Life Campaign will deliver Free one hour training sessions in basic CPR in Bunclody AFC on Tuesday, May 7, The sessions take place as follows: 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.; 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Booking required directly with the Irish Heart Foundation at Hands.
