Gap Camera and Film Club set to relaunch

-

The unique and rural, Gap Camera and Film Club will relaunch on Monday, April 29 at 7.30 p.m. at the Barn at the Gap Pub, Ballythomas. ‘The club is quite unique due to its location and for the fact that we cover film as well as photography,’ said film maker Terence, who is organising the event.

In the past, the club has also arranged field trips to locations such as Glendalough and following the relaunch, the club is planning more trips for over the summer months.

The club is a spin off of the hugely successful Gap Arts Festival, which takes place in the area in August each year.

Each month, the camera club will provide an opportunity for members to share their work, take part in tutorials and discuss camera tips among like minded people.

As well as photography, the club will screen short films and hold film making tutorials.

In 2018, the Gap Arts Festival bought equipment for its community portrait project, which was funded by a grant from Wexford Local Development.

The camera, lighting and backdrops are being used by the camera club on an ongoing basis and will be set up during the meeting to demonstrate how to shoot portraits with professional equipment.

Anyone interested in film or photography, no matter what level of experience they have, is welcome to attend and find out more.

Annual membership is just €10, payable if people decide to join the club after the initial meeting.
