Medals for creative youngsters in art and handwriting
THERE were some very good entries at the county finals of the Community Games Art and Handwriting competitions which were held at Castlebridge national school.
Children came from the Community Games areas of BBBCR, Castlebridge/Crossabeg, Taghmon, Clongeen, Tintern, Bree/Davidstown, Piercestown/Murrintown, Glynn/Barntown, and Rosslare.
The event was co-ordinated by the local Castlebridge/ Crossabeg committee and they would like to thank the Principal and staff of the school for the use of their premises, all the children who attended and their parents who brought them along for the events. Grateful thanks also to the adults who offered their services and supervised during the course of the day, and to the judges who gave of their time to select the top three in all categories.
The presentation of medals took place at the Ferrycarrig Hotel and the local Community Games organisation wished the gold medallists the very best of luck at the national finals which will be held in University of Limerick in May.
