1 CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG: The award-winning Wexford Light Opera Society present the smash hit musical. A high-flying,fun-filled adventure for all the family. Based on the beloved 1968 film adaption of Ian Fleming’s children’s book and featuring an unforgetta­ble score by the Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang tells the story of young siblings Jeremy and Jemima who, while on truant from school, meet the beautiful Truly Scrumptiou­s, who falls for their widowed father, Caractacus Potts, and his various oddball inventions, including the family’s noisy rebuilt car. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is one family-friendly blockbuste­r that audiences will find truly scrumptiou­s. 2 IGNATIUS: Premiere screening on Friday the April 26 in the Presentati­on Arts Centre in Enniscorth­y of short film ‘Ignatius’. It tells the tale of Ignatius Doyle, a family man and local politician, who is respected by all and the film gives us an insight into a day in his life. A family drama this film is a strictly over 18’s event and includes sensitive subject matter which some viewers may find disturbing. Written and directed by Fintan Kelly, the film boasts an entirely local cast and was shot entirely in Enniscorth­y by internatio­nally acclaimed director Ger Walsh. Tickets for the event are priced at €10 which include a drinks reception at 7 p.m. followed by the screening at 8 p.m.

3 DANCE FESTIVAL: SpringMove­s launches its inaugural Dance Festival in the National Opera House and Dance Hub Wexford on April 27, linking into worldwide events for Internatio­nal Dance Day. All Performanc­es are Free of Charge and Don’t Require a Ticket. Booking is Necessary for all Workshops (free and paid workshops). 4 YOGATHON GOREY: Back to back yoga classes in aid of the North Wexford Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, will take place at the Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. Eleven local instructor­s will guide classes in restorativ­e yoga, yoga for kids, pregnancy yoga, relaxation and more. Sure to be great fun for all the family, all funds raised will go to the NWSPCA. 5 ATHENAEUM: A fundraisin­g coffee morning will take place in the Athenaeum, Enniscorth­y, on Friday, April 26. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and is the main fundraisin­g event for the local cystic fibrosis organisati­on and everyone throughout the county is invited to attend. The event is also being organised to raise awareness about the illness and a significan­t aspect of the event is that all of the money raised on the day will stay local.

6 JAZZ DAY 2019: Putting Wexford on the map in terms of jazz for a long time, drummer Kevin Lawlor will host a wonderful evening of music at The Wexford Arts Centre this Sunday from 5 p.m. The show is a celebratio­n of jazz in Wexford, following the theme of ‘Great Jazz Drummers’. Things will kick off with students from County Wexford School of Music’s two student jazz ensembles, as well as performanc­es from drum students. The show will feature Kevin on drums, joined by Dave Jones from the UK on piano, Andrew Csibi on double bass and special guest Alex O’Keeffe on guitar. Tickets are €15.

7 TRIBUTE ACTS IN CROWN LIVE: In recent weeks, Crown Live has played host to some of the country’s finest tributes acts. That looks set to continue this week with two great tribute shows lined up. On Friday night, get ready to return to the glory days of the 90s as Oasis tribute act Live Forever take to the stage with all the attitude of the Brit-pop rebels. This is followed on Saturday by a special, energetic Nirvana tribute show by Paradox to mark 25 years since Kurt Cobain’s tragic death. Both bands promise all your favourite tunes and a high energy show. A limited number of tickets are still available for both shows from €15 at The Crown Bar or online at www. ticketweb.ie.
