St Patrick’s Special School church gate collection St Patrick’s Special School, Bohreen Hill, Enniscorth­y will hold their church gate collection in Monamolin on Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28. All money collected will stay in the school to benefit all the special needs pupils in the school; your support is greatly appreciate­d.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIO­N

Hugh (Sonny) Harney, Ballymacsi­mon, Kilmuckrid­ge, wishes to thank most sincerely all who attended his birthday celebratio­n and gave most generously to a collection made during the evening for charity. A total of €1,940 was raised and €971 each was donated to the Motor Neurone Disease and the Irish Cancer Society respective­ly.

SOCIAL WALKING/ RUNNING GROUP

An open social walking/running group has commenced in Kilmuckrid­ge. Meeting will take place at new time of 8 p.m. each Monday to Friday evening starting at St Joseph’s NS for anyone who wishes to take part. Anyone interested can join the informatio­nal WhatsApp Group by contacting Yvonne O’Sullivan at 087 9555282 or otherwise simply turn up any evening that suits and join in. At least two members of the group will definitely be out each of the nights except for nights where a Red Warning has been issued for the area. This is a casual group set up to encourage people to get out and about with others in the community for some gentle exercise at a pace that suits each individual. Looking forward to meeting any new joiners.

BUFFERS ALLEY

Our underage nursery re-commences on Saturday, April 26, at 10.am in Buffers Alley for boys and girls (4-6 years) swings into action. Contact Séamus Kavanagh on (086 8511036) for more details. Everyone welcome to come along for a morning of fun.

Underage hurl donation. Coiste na nÓg would be very grateful if any unused underage hurls could be donated back to the club (in particular for the younger age groups – e.g. u5/ under-six/under-seven). Hurls may be donated at u5/under-seven trainings on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m., given to any mentors at any underage level or by contacting the coaching officer Séamus Kavanagh (086 8511036).

U5 and under-seven Hurling and Football coaching has re-commenced and takes place on Saturdays at. 10 a.m. in Buffers Alley. Now that the dark, wet and cold days are disappeari­ng, our Nursery coaches are also busy preparing to get the ball rolling again. Saturday, April 27, is a date to mark on the calendar when our Nursery for boys and girls (4-6 years) swings into action.

Club Clean Up - The club is organising a ‘summer clean-up’ with the indoor area scheduled for Thursday, April 25, at 11 a.m. and the outdoor area for the following Monday, April 29, at 7 p.m. This annual event ensures that the club grounds are looking good for all upcoming events and games. All welcome to come along and bring any equipment/ materials that would assist with this project.

MODEL COUNTY TICKETS

Buffers Alley/Wexford GAA Model Co tickets are due to be returned to the clubhouse on Thursday next, April 25, between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. This is a great opportunit­y for all families to win very attractive prizes including cars, vouchers, cash prizes, to name but a few – in total there are 50 prizes for each of the three monthly draws. Over the past number of years Buffers Alley members have been extremely lucky and were in the winners’ enclosure on many occasions. Tickets cost €50 for the three draws which will take place on May 1; May 29 and June 26. Tickets are available from club members or from the Co-Ordinator, Michael Sinnott (Kilmuckrid­ge). This draw is beneficial to our area as a high percentage of sales are retained by our club.

The under-15 footballer­s defeated Craanford and while the under-13 footballer­s Buffers Alley. The under-13 hurlers defeated Davidstown-Courtnacud­dy also so great start to the year for our underage teams.

This week 25 years ago, the men’s hurling team were down to play Oulart-The Ballagh second team in Ballymurn in the first round of junior hurling championsh­ip.
