Dr Miriam Birch will deliver a talk on the effects of High Cholesterol, and its effects, in the May Byrne House on this Thursday night, April 25, at 8 p.m. following this Denis O’Connor from Enniscorthy will give a very interesting talk on ‘Family Bereavement’ and the effects it can have on bereaved families who have lost loved ones and also their local communities,

COOLGREANY TIDY TOWNS
The committee are appealing for as much support as possible to help clean-up the roads around the village as part of the two Km road clean-up, anyone who can help are asked to get involved with that work which started at the first day of April. The committee would like to sincerely thank the St Patrick’s Day parade organisers for their very kind donation which will help to purchase flowers for planting in the future to improve the village image for the Tidy Towns Competition.

45 CARD DRIVE.
A very successful 45 card drive is ongoing in the Coolgreany Inn on each Friday night at 8.30 p.m. Everyone is very welcome to come along for a good night of craic at the cards, and some lovely finger food thrown in for good measure. So please join us for a game of 45.

The club is appealing to the community for support for their weekly lotto which has changed slightly due to the closure of the post office.

COOLGREANY DRAMA
Coolgreany Drama is holding two fundraising events shortly in the village. The annual pub quiz will be held in O’Rafferty’s at 9 p.m. this Friday, April 26. Meanwhile, a Garden Tea Day will be held in the beautiful surroundings of Ram House (Sally Stevens’ House) from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Sunday, May 5. Tea and cake will be served.
Askamore COMMUNITY HALL REFURBISHMENT
Refurbishment work on Askamore Community Hall are progressing well and should be completed in the coming weeks. RURAL TRANSPORT
The Local Link is a vital service to Gorey for people in the area. Bus runs twice weekly. Local Link accepts Free Travel Pass. Arrangements can be made to collect people from their own door or at designated points along the route. The bus driver is happy to drop everyone home and help carry their shopping to their front door. Bus leaves Askamore Church car park Tuesday at 9.30 a.m. approximately arriving in Gorey 10 a.m. Bus departs Gorey at 12.30. Bus Departs on Saturday at 9.45 a.m. The cost is €3 each way if not eligible for free pass. Plenty of time to shop, meet friends and have a coffee.

KILRUSH-ASKAMORE GAA LOTTO
The latest lotto jackpot wasn’t won. The numbers drawn were 19, 1, 25 and 30. Stephen Kinsella, John Kirwan, Patrick Kinsella and Liam O’Rourke and won the Lucky Dips. Ger Kinsella won the Sellers’ Prize. The next draw is in Jim Byrne’s, Carnew, on Tuesday, April 30, and the jackpot is now €4,200. €2 tickets are available from players and members.

KILRUSH DRAMA GROUP
All-Ireland Qualifiers Kilrush Drama Group will perform their production of the Steward of Christendom by Sebastian Barry and directed by Mick Byrne in the Dean Crowe Theatre in Athlone on Monday, May 6, next.
There will be two pre All-Ireland performances in Carnew on Monday, April 29, and Friday, May 1.
Tickets will soon be available at €10 for adults and €5 for students. There will be a draw for a door prize for anyone who wishes to support the group in their quest for all-Ireland success. The draw will take place after Friday night’s performance.
We would like to encourage students to come, particularly on the Monday night, to support the local students performing in the play.
The tickets for Friday night’s performance will include a cheese and wine reception (7.30 p.m.) to acknowledge and celebrate the group’s achievement. Both performances will start at 8 p.m.
Rathnure CHURCH NOTICES
Please note from the weekend of April 27/28 there will be only one Vigil Mass in the parish at 7 p.m. in Rathnure. On Sundays Mass in Templeudigan will be at the earlier time of 9.30 a.m. and to facilitate this new time, Sunday Mass in Rathnure will move to 10.30 a.m.

OulartThe Ballagh OULART-THE BALLAGH GAA
Our under-13 boys put on a great display of hurling last Thursday night in the final of the Leinster League. Unfortunately they did not win but played brilliantly in a very close game. Well done to both teams and mentors. The under-18 camogie girls had a great win on Thursday night last against Horsewood, winning by 8–12 to 2–11 and getting their championship campaign off to a great start. The under-13 boys beat Glynn-Barntown by 4-10 to 0-00 in Round one of the championship on Tuesday last. The boys played a brilliant match, showed great skill, speed and fantastic teamwork. The under-12 camogie girls play their first blitz in Oulart 6 p.m. this Tuesday, April 23, taking on Cloughbawn, Rathnure and the Rapparees. This Thursday, April 25, the under-15 boys take on the Rapparees in round one of the championship in Oulart at 7 p.m. on the top pitch. The boys and girls would appreciate lots of support.
CONGRATULATIONS
Huge well done to Dean Cox a member of EBC winning a Leinster Final in boxing and wishing him the very best of luck Dean in the all-Ireland. Congratulations also to Jake Cox, who was has honoured a few weeks ago with a Garda Youth Award for all he has achieved in boxing over the last year. Three young people from our area have been honoured with Garda Youth Award this year, Jason Rossiter, Molli Meaghan Tresson and Jake Cox. We are very proud of you all.
TRAINING
All camogie and hurling age groups are back in training and it is very busy on the pitches every evening with training and matches. Our walking track is also available and is a great way to get in some exercise in a very safe place and on a lovely fine evening, it’s a nice way to get out in the fresh air.
NURSERY TRAINING
Oulart-The Ballagh GAA and camogie club Red and Black Play and Stay Nursery for boys and girls age four to five (born 2014 2015) is starting Saturday, April 27, from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. To register your child, pleas contact Liz Freeman at 087 7560871. Thank You Marshalstown NS parents’ association would like to thank everyone who supported their recent clothing collection. The event was a great success raising over €250 towards the children’s entertainment for the up and coming Fun Run on Sunday, May 12.

FUN RUN
Marshalstown NS parents’ association are organising their annual Fun Run – 5k and 3k routes on Sunday, May 12. Start and finish at Marshalstown Community Centre. Registration at 11 a.m. Race starts 11.30 a.m. Adults €5. Children free but need to be accompanied by an adult. Entertainment supplied by Liam Sharkey and friends. Great raffle prizes. Refreshments served in Community Centre afterwards. It is set be another great success. Looking forward to seeing you all.

Weekend Masses in the parish are as follows Saturday in Marshalstown at 7.30 p.m. and Sunday in Castledockrell at 10 a.m. Please note also that baptisms in both Marshalstown and Castledockrell are on Saturdays only.
