Afine tasty meal and a warm welcome is a promise at Katie Daly’s popular bar and restaurant located in the heart of Gorey town, open seven days a week. First opening its doors on 78 Main Street, Gorey in 2010, since then Katie Daly’s has gone from strength to strength, becoming an award winning venue where visitors can enjoy good food in good company, as well as a range of sports and musical entertainm­ent.

Katie Daly’s prides itself on serving up fine gastro inspired lunches, home-cooked dinners with an Irish twist and is a family run bar with Darragh Kelly as the owner.

Katie Daly’s is also delighted to launch its very own gluten and diary free menu and they also have vegan options available.

Inside the two floors, customers can enjoy fine wining and

dining, with a vast range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, including a selection of carefully selected craft beers.

There is also space available for private functions, available in the cellar bar, perfect for birthdays, communions, confirmati­ons, staff parties and Christmas dos.

The venue gets its name from the Irish-American bootlegger, Katie Daly, remembered in the famous song ‘Come down from the mountain Katie Daly’ and there is a tribute to the woman herself on location.

History and tradition is something celebrated at Katie Daly’s and over the years management have worked hard to build relationsh­ips with customers, within the mixed cliental of both businesspe­ople and artists alike.

Staff love to welcome back people year on year for their birthdays, as well the comfortabl­e regulars and even the new faces from all across the world that come all year round to Gorey.

Nearly ten years in business, Gorey has been good to Katie Daly’s but what really keeps the visitors returning is the genuine kindness and hospitalit­y of the staff, with over 40 hard working staff available to make your visit all that more pleasurabl­e.

‘All our staff are an absolute credit to us. They’re so hard working, we’d really be lost without them,’ says owner Darragh Kelly .

There are daily specials starting from as little as €9.95, an extensive Evening Menu, served from 5 p.m., as well as lunch which includes salads, sandwiches, flatbreads, mains and sides.

Food is served until 9pm Sunday to Thursday and till 10pm Friday and Saturday and the bar and restaurant have won many awards over the years, from Best Casual Dining, Best Restaurant in the South East, to Sports Bar of the Year and Best Music Venue of the Year, always nominated by customers.

There is live music every Friday night until late, with the usual suspects being the singsonger writer types, both local acts and more well known acts like The Four of Us, Munday and Paddy Casey.

There is an acoustic session that takes place every Monday night where the floor is open to showcase what the locality has to offer, and often both local and internatio­nal musicans take part as they pass through.

There are five TV screens, with a 50 inch plasma TV located in the enclosed beer garden, where live sports can be enjoyed every week to cater for all tastes, from premier leauge football, to rugby, to horse racing, GAA, darts and more.
