GAA RESULTS AND FIXTURES

Pride of place this week must go to our wonderful under-14 hurlers and their backroom team on their fine displays in the qualifying rounds of Féile on Easter Monday in Monamolin where they defeated St Martin’s, Duffry Rovers and Buffers Alley to reach the semi-final where they overcame a gallant Shelmaliers team on a scoreline of four goals eight points to three points. They will contest the final, versus St Anne’s on Sunday, May 5, in St Patrick’s Park, at 11 a.m. The winners will represent Co. Wexford in Féile na nGael in Cork in June. Oulart-The Ballagh supporters can be relied upon to attend in numbers to cheer on this wonderful group of young players who demonstrate an exciting and intelligent brand of hurling.

In adult championship the seniors drew with Rathnure, our intermediates defeated Ballygarrett and our juniors lost to Oylegate-Glenbrien. The under-nine boys enjoyed a Football Blitz involving themselves, Shamrocks, Blackwater and Bunclody. The under-13 hurlers play Buffers Alley, in championship on Tuesday, April 30, at 7.15 p.m. in Monamolin.

CAMOGIE

The seniors had a good win over Rathnure in the league while the juniors overcame Oylegate. The under-10 players gave a great account of themselves in a blitz. The senior camogie players organised a very successful cake sale in Oulart and the Ballagh over Easter and they would like to express their deep gratitude to everyone who supported it so generously. The spirit of joyful giving is alive and well in the parish.
