Black Seed Oil good for you in so many ways
WHEN I first heard about Black Seed Oil I didn’t want to know anything about it, ‘not another Omega oil’ I thought to myself. But it’s actually not new, it’s been around for thousands of years. Apparently, Cleopatra used it on her hair and on her skin, so if it’s good enough for Cleopatra!
Seriously though, I did do some research, and the more I looked into it the more reports I began to hear about it from customers. They included improved energy, better quality sleep, less pain, and improved skin conditions, how could I ignore this oil? One person couldn’t really explain it, except to say that they had an increased sense of overall wellness and wouldn’t be without their Black Seed Oil.
So what is Black Seed Oil? It’s the oil from black cumin seeds, also known as Blessed Seed and has been used for its medicinal properties in the
Middle East for thousands of years.
It’s anti-inflammatory and is useful for any inflammatory conditions including bronchial disease, inflammatory skin conditions, and inflammation associated with arthritis.
Its natural antihistamine action makes it useful for airborne allergies especially symptoms associated with hay fever, allergic rhinitis, and bronchial asthma.
It’s also rich in antioxidants, amino acids, minerals, and vitamins A, B, C, and D which are excellent to support immunity. Its antibacterial properties are fantastic for fighting a wide variety of bacterial infections. It also has anti-fungal properties. Other benefits include its ability to lower blood pressure and cholesterol.
It’s a natural source of Omega 6 essential fatty acid; these omegas are called essential because your body cannot make them so they must be obtained from the diet. It also contains Omega 9. One 5ml teaspoon of Viridian Black Seed oil will give you 2450mg of Omega 6 and 1040mg of Omega 9. You can take Black Seed Oil straight from the spoon or use it in salad dressing, yoghurt, or smoothies. It’s important to note that with Omega oils you need a balance of Omega 3 and 6 oils. Omega 3 can be found in oily fish, nuts, flax and chia seeds.
Always choose organic and cold pressed, it should be in a dark bottle and should say Black Cumin or Nigella Sativa on the label. It’s certainly an interesting oil to consider.
