COLAISTE BRÍDE OPEN EVENING

- By BRENDAN KEANE

The fact that Coláíste Bríde in Enniscorthy is one of the most highly regarded secondary schools in the county was highlighted at its open by the large number of prospective new students who attended.

Sixth class pupils from local primary schools gathered to view the state-of-the-art facilities available to students in Coláiste Bríde.

Teachers and current students were on hand to offer assistance and help the visitors familiarise themselves with the school.

It was also a colourful event as participants of the Junk Kouture initiative held a fashion show on the night which was very well received.

The visiting pupils and their parents and guardians were visibly impressed with the creative flair and innovative design prowess of the secondary school girls.

The visitors gained a valuable insight into the wide range of curricular and extra-curricular supports available in the school.

In addition to an excellent reputation for academic success the school is also held in high regard in sporting circles.

After the visitors were guided around the school by the current students Principal, Kiera O’Sullivan, invited the parents to the sports hall where she gave a formal welcoming address.

She highlighted the importance of a good secondary education and outlined the range of activities and support structures in place in Coláiste Bríde to ensure that all the girls who attend reach their maximum potential.

Many former students in the school have gone to achieve great things and proven themselves to be very successful in business and academics.

However, another aspect of the school that was also emphasised on the night was the fact that in Coláiste Bríde there is also a strong emphasis placed on enabling students to become the best people they can be.
