Hibs secure home quarter-final with victory against Camolin

COURTOWN OVERCAME Camolin 4-2 in the Premier One shield to ensure a home tie in the quarter-final of the competitio­n as they progressed as group winners.

Niamh O’Leary gave Camolin the lead, but two goals from Sarah Lynch and one each from Marian Cardiff and Irene Grant had Hibs well in control before Aoife Curran had the final say for Camolin.

Corach booked their place in the last eight when two goals from Aisling Waters gave Ramblers a 2-1 win over Kilmore.

For the second week running, Bree came out on top of a very tight game on a 1-0 scoreline as they overcame Tombrack, with Ciara McKelvie scoring the only goal of a very closely-contested Division 1 encounter.

There was no repeat occurrence in the other game in this division, as Adamstown proved far too strong for a young St. Joseph’s side.

Four goals from Karolina Jaglarz, hattricks from Jasmine Martin and Chantelle Martin, two goals from Sandra White, and one each from Natalie Heffernan and Chloe Doyle saw the home side win 14-1.

Sarah Walsh scored the consolatio­n goal for St. Joseph’s.

In Division 2, the clash of the two promoted teams from last season saw New Ross Town overcome St. Cormac’s 7-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Marcella Cullen and two goals each from Lina

Smitate-McGrath and Jenny Canning.

Kiltealy Celtic travelled to Fastnet Rovers and recorded their first league win as goals from Kelly Ann Murphy and Clodagh O’Leary saw them take the points 2-1. Annie Breen was on target for Rovers.

New club Enniscorth­y United were given a baptism of fire in their first league match away to All Blacks, losing 12-1 to a youthful home side.

Kayleigh O’Rourke was on target for United, but goals from Rachel Kehoe (four), Ciara Rees (two), Abi Sinnott (two), Rebecca Foley, Aoife Rees, Emma Roche and Laura Doyle gave the home side victory.

Shelburne made it two wins from two games when they overcame Wexford

Bohs 3-1 thanks to goals from Niamh Kehoe, Aisling Breen and Nora Higgins. Aoife O’Keeffe was on target for Bohs.

A Joanne Dillon hat-trick plus a goal from Ciara Power saw Cushinstow­n travel to Ajax Athletic and come away 4-0 winners.

UNDER-18

Courtown proved too strong for a young, enthusiast­ic Arklow Town side and ran out 11-1 winners in their Under-18 clash.

Alex Lynch and Emma Lynch scored four each, Leah Gammill added two, while Autumn Kavanagh also got her name on the scoresheet, with Zara Murray on target for Arklow.

Moyne moved to the top of the north section with a 4-2 win away to Aughrim courtesy of goals from Katie Bates, Shauna Redmond, Miria O’Dowd and Jessica Rafferty, while Lucy Kemple scored both goals for Aughrim.

In the south section, Forth Celtic overcame Bree United 6-1 thanks to goals from Sarah Carroll, Sarah O’Donoghue, Katie Carroll, Aisling O’Sullivan, Hollie Audsley and Ruth Hendrick.

Ciara Rossiter converted a penalty in response for Bree.

Seaview travelled to Curracloe and won 3-1 courtesy of goals from Jennah Molloy, Ava White-Keating and Kate Miles, with Lily Stout hitting the target for the home side.
