CRICKET CLUB HISTORY

Leinster Cricket Union was founded in the Central Hotel on Exchequer Street on April 1919, and one hundred years on, CL President Peter Thew raised a glass with more than eighty representa­tives of the province’s 43 clubs to open the centenary festivitie­s.

Gorey Cricket Club is also compiling a recorded ‘History’ of the game that was so dominant in the North Wexford area with teams from Camolin, Ballyhast, Wells and Ardnamine to name but a few. Scorebooks, pictures or any memorabili­a would be most welcome. Any material received will be documented and returned.

Kilmuckrid­ge FORD ART STUDIO

The official opening of ‘ The Ford Studio’, Cosher will take place on Friday, October 25, at 7 p.m. councillor Malcolm Byrne will perform the opening.

An exhibition will take place on Friday, October 25, to Monday, October 28, inclusive 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. where the students will showcase their work.

Monamolin DEATH

Sincere sympathy is extended to the O’Brien family, Monamolin on the death of Jack’s brother Anto. who died in Wexford General Hospital on Monday, October 9.Anto was buried in Ferns graveyard after 11 o’clock Mass on Thursday, October 10. May he RIP.
