Bree-Galbally CLONMORE TABLE QUIZ

A table quiz in aid of St John’s Clonmore will be held in Enniscorth­y Rugby Club at 8 p.m. this Friday, October 25. The quiz will start at 8 p.m. All support appreciate­d.

SCOIL MHUIRE NS BALLYHOGUE

The school is holding a clothing collection on Wednesday, October 23. We ask relatives of students attending the school as well as others in the community to collect any clothing or related items they no longer need. Donations of all clothing types, paired shoes, belts, curtains, bed linens and towels are accepted and should be dropped off at the school before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23. The school will raise funds for every kg donated. Thank you for your support.

GALBALLY TABLE QUIZ

Galbally Sports and Leisure Club table quiz will take place in the Sycamore House, Killurin (Declan’s) on Friday, October 25, at 9 p.m. Table of four €25. Cash prizes and raffle on the night.

BREE PARISH JOURNAL

Preparatio­ns are under way for this year’s edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisati­ons in the parish are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of October.

The committee is also looking for photograph­s particular­ly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publicatio­n pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebratio­ns. FASHION SHOW

Many thanks to all for your generous support for the Fashion Show in aid of Bree Community Playground.

Thanks also to Mary Hudson of ‘Glamour’ and to Vivian Doyle of ‘Ottiva’ in Enniscorth­y, who provided the clothes, and thanks to Monica English of ‘Perfection with Mon’ and the’ Student Hair Academy’ of Enniscorth­y VEC who did the makeup and hairs for the models.

CHILDREN’S DISCO

A Halloween Disco will be held in Bree Community Centre from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for all primary school children. All children from Bree, Galbally and Ballyhogue schools are welcome to attend.

GALBALLY CAR BOOT SALE

SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the sons, daughter, relations and friends of Josie Spratt, who died on Tuesday last. Her remains were interred in the new cemetery, Bree following Mass on Thursday.

GALBALLY NS REPORT

Congratula­tions to Erin Walsh, who won a prize in the ‘Thor and Freya’ colouring competitio­n in associatio­n with the National Heritage Park. The children will also taking part in the upcoming National Disability Authority and Credit Union art and the Folens Halloween colouring competitio­ns.

A big thank you to Enniscorth­y Fire Station for delivering a very worthwhile and informativ­e visit to the school as part of a surprise Fire Drill. The beginning of year Mass was held on Wednesday, October 2. The children will be taking part in a sponsored Halloween Walk on Friday, October 25, and will be taking part in the Sing Out Loud Concert in the National Opera House on Monday, November 11.

The school are still collecting Aldi rugby stickers, if anyone has any unwanted stickers we would greatly appreciate them, a big thank you to everyone who has donated stickers to date.

The pupils are currently enjoying GAA training, have just completed four weeks of Rounders coaching, and are looking forward to Zumba classes next term.

The pupils showed their support for Ballyhogue GAA Club by having a Lá na gClub day on Friday, October 18. All the children wore the Ballyhogue GAA colours to support the club who have several county semi-finals and finals in the coming weeks.

BREE ACTIVE RETIREMENT

The Bree Active Retirement Christmas Lunch will be held in the Riverside Park Hotel on Thursday, December 19, Further details from 086 0747823.

Bree Bingo Bingo continues Tuesdays at 9 p.m. in Byrnes of Bree. Books are €10 on the night and €2 bonus sheets are available.

INDOOR ATHLETICS

Indoor Athletic Training has resumed in Bree Community Centre on Thursdays at 7 p.m. for five- to 11-year-olds and from 7.45 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Bree Athletic Club members. Cost is €2 per child to max of €5 per family.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR

Yoga Classes continue in Bree Community Centre with Grace Reddington on Monday nights from 8.15 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. and on Thursday mornings from 10.15 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Please bring your own mat. Cost is €10.

SMART FITNESS

Smart Fitness Kettlebell and Circuit Training Classes continue in Galbally Hall every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7 p.m. The classes are suitable for total beginners and are a mix of kettlebell, bodyweight, floor and core exercises. The Vintage Club held a very pleasant function in Rackards Caim recently in which they presented Wexford Hospice Homecare with a cheque for €4,500 and Caim senior citizens outing with a cheque for €500 proceeds of the recent Vintage Day.

HOLY HOUR: A Holy Hour with Exposition of Blessed Sacrament will take place in Courtnacud­dy Church on Sunday, November 10, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Holy Hour will take place every second Sunday of each month.
