BALLAGH BOXING CLUB

Congratula­tions to Aaron Kirwan-Doyle and Ryan Cullen who received awards from Wexford Boxing Co. Board recently. Ryan was awarded Best Youth one and Best Senior Cadet.

Aaron was honoured as the best under-18 boxer and he also was awarded a trophy for Bout of the Year. Because Aaron was on boxing duty in Germany, with the Leinster Squad, his awards were collected by his brother Cillian. Aaron won a silver medal for his exploits in Germany, only losing to a five-times England champion. He will be boxing in Lisbon in December.

UNDER-15 CHAMPIONS

Congratula­tions to Oulart-The Ballagh under-15 hurlers who won the Roinn one county final on Bank Holiday, Monday when they defeated HWH/Bunclody on a scoreline of three goals 14 points to one goal five points. The management team of Ronan Doyle, Phillip Rossiter, Alan O’Connor, James Ormonde and Dean O’Connor deserve great praise and thanks for all their dedication and commitment throughout the year. Sincere thanks also to Pauline Roche and Linda Dunne for providing First Aid throughout the campaign.

For the fathers of the following six boys: Oisín Dunne, Jason Rossiter, Cian O’Connor, Séamus Ormonde, Bertie Finn and Lee Doyle it was an extra-special weekend as they (Tomas Dunne, Philip Rossiter, Alan O’Connor, James Ormonde, Paul Finn and Ronan Doyle) had been part of the Oulart-The Ballagh 1994/1995 Silver Jubilee team that was honoured in Wexford Park the previous day, at the interval of the county final.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Oulart-The Ballagh GAA Club will hold its annual general meeting in Oulart Community Centre on Friday, November 29, beginning at 7.30 p.m. The annual endof-year meeting for underage will take place in the Upper Complex on Friday, November 22, beginning at 8.30 p.m.

COACHING COURSES

Hurling and camogie Foundation Courses will run in Oulart on Thursday, November 7, Saturday, November 9, and Thursday, November 14. People involved with underage hurling and camogie teams are encouraged to do the course. Please contact Liz Freeman at 087 7560871 to book a place on the course.

CAMOGIE FUNDRAISER

Oulart-The Ballagh camogie club are hosting a fundraiser ‘Look Good-Feel Good’ on Sunday, November 24, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Riverside Hotel. There will be various demonstrat­ions throughout the afternoon. There will also be numerous stands of crafts and Artisan foods around the room. If anyone would like to take a stand, please contact Kathryn on 087 2538105 as soon as possible.

CLUB LOTTO

The lotto draw takes place every two weeks. The prize fund is now €14,600. The winning numbers at the last draw were 5, 12, 13 and 28 and the bonus 17. €30 lucky-dip winners were Stacey Kehoe, Gary Philips, Michael, Cathal and Padraic Wheelan c/o Stephen Hayden, Aoife and Katie Walsh, John Nolan.

All money made from the lotto go towards the upkeep and maintenanc­e of the club. We would encourage everyone to support the lotto. A big thank you to everyone who continuall­y supports the lotto every two weeks.

NATIONAL PIKE ASSOCIATIO­N

The annual Mass for deceased members of the National Pike Associatio­n will be held in St Mochua’s Church, Oulart on November 8 at 8 p.m. and family members of deceased Pike People are especially invited.
