BLOOD OF NOSFERATU GETS THE PULSES RACING
THE Presentation Centre in Enniscorthy was transformed into a haven of debauchery and blood-thirsty horror recently when the local drama group staged its version of Darryl Pickett’s, ‘Blood of Nosferatu’.
The cast and crew worked hard at ensuring the crowd were treated to a colourful show which had all the hallmarks associated with the dark tales of County Dracula and his blood-thirsty cravings in Transylvania.
The show featured an all-star local cast who displayed a level of professionalism that many fulltime theatrical groups would have been proud of.
The story centred on a character named Thomas Harker who was sent by his employers , Walker and Halloman Solicitors, to Transylvania to deal with one of their clients - a man named Count Dracula.
The story of Dracula is arguably the most famous of all vampire tales and any tales of blood-sucking creatures that have followed in its wake always invoke images of Bram Stoker’s immortal and infamous fiend.
Ronan P Byrne performed the role of Dracula and the play was directed by well-known actor and director, Tom Reddy.
The show featured a 16-member cast and was one of the most ambitious projects undertaken by the drama group in recent years.
The audience responded very positively to the show and while the origins of the story might date back to a different century there was no escaping the fact that for a brief period of time Transylvania came to Enniscorthy.
