Fine fare as North End defeat Curracloe

TWO GOALS each from Ava Singleton and Charlotte Doyle saw Aughrim Rangers overcome Coolboy Rangers 4-1 in Region A of the Under-12 league, with Danielle Breen on target for Coolboy.

In the other game in that group, Bunclody comfortabl­y overcame a young Tombrack side with goals from Megan Redmond, Chloe Leyborne, Carla Byrne, Moya Conroy and Leah Kavanagh, while Mikayla Tobin-Cosgrave was on target for Tombrack.

In Region B, Bridge Rovers were pipped by Adamstown in an excellent game, with the visitors winning 2-1.

Kiera Carroll scored for Rovers, while Maeve O Gorman and Eve O Gorman were on target for Adamstown.

Probably the best game of the day at this age group saw North End overcome Curracloe 3-2, with Mikka Lawlor, Sophie Kinsella and Alex Malone-Roche scoring for the winners, while Ciara Whelan grabbed both of Curracloe’s goals.

New Ross Town were the big winners in Region C as they proved far too strong for a young St. Leonards side, with Aoibheann Downey, Ciara Nolan, Ria Madigan, Aoife Walsh and Hannah Carney all on target.

New Ross Celtic beat Cushinstow­n 5-0 with two goals each from Sinéad Jones and Shannon Diviney plus an own goal, while Shelburne travelled to Seaview United and also ran out 5-0 winners.

Nicole Colfer scored a hat-trick for the winners, with Caoimhe Bolger adding two goals.

Rosslare Rangers Navy made it three wins from three games as they proved too strong for Fastnet Rovers, with Izzy Finney, Sophie Ferguson, Eabha Griffin and Aoibheann Quirke all on target, while Ella Martin scored for Rovers.

Rosslare Strand travelled to Corach Ramblers and came away with the three points, comfortabl­y proving too strong for the young home side.

UNDER-16

Only one game went ahead in the Under-16 Premier Division, and it saw Bunclody and All Blacks play out an entertaini­ng 2-2 draw.

Amy Shannon put Bunclody ahead, but an own goal and a strike from Kennedy Cullen left All Blacks in front until Katie Moynihan scored an important equaliser for the club from the Carlow border.

In Division 1/2, North End overcame Courtown Hibs 11-4, with Katie Law scoring six to add to two goals from Leiah O’Rourke and one each from Lucy Fitzgerald, Layla Fenlon and Gráinne Ní Ailín.

Leah Gemmill, Alex Lynch, Kathlynn Tomkins and Holly Tobin were on target for Hibs.

Aoibheann Rankin hit the net for All Blacks’ second team, but two goals each from Emma Rossiter and Ella Nolan as well as one apiece from Aoibh Thomas and Niamh Thomas saw New Ross Town run out 6-1 winners.

In the other game in this division, Aughrim Rangers ran out comfortabl­e 8-0 winners against a young Shamrock Rovers side who are still struggling to find their feet at this age group.
