Sky Blues lose out to New Oak after extra-time

North End United crashed out of the FAI Junior Cup at the fourth round stage when losing out in agonising fashion to New Oak Boys in Carlow.

The Sky Blues held a 2-0 advantage and were also 3-2 to the good with time almost up, but the hosts grabbed a last-gasp leveller before netting the winning goal in extra-time.

Robin Dempsey bagged a double for the Wexford side, with Adam Beary also hitting the back of the net, but David O’Shea, Dean Kelly and Andrew Wall (two) scored for the winners.

Wexford Bohs also bowed out in the fourth round, as they lost 1-0 to Newpark FC, while Gorey Rangers overcame Courtown Hibs in an all-Wexford clash (see focus match).

Meanwhile, in the third round Rosslare Rangers saw off Thomastown United 3-1, thanks to a Peter Goldsmith goal and a Danny Furlong double.

O’Neill’sLFAJunior­Shield

Ballymurn Celtic booked their place in the third round of the LFA Junior Shield with a 3-0 win over Forth Celtic on Sunday.

Shane Campbell bagged a double for the winners, while Shane Whelan also got his name on the scoresheet.

Duncannon lost 2-0 to Skryne Tara, while Wexford Bohs progressed without having to kick a ball as they were handed a walkover from Rivervalle­y Rangers.

PremierDiv­ision

Campile United dented the title ambitions of Shamrock Rovers on Sunday as they edged out the Enniscorth­y side 1-0 in their Premier Division clash.

P.J. Banville got the all-important goal for Campile, as they earned their maiden win of the campaign as well as inflicting the first defeat of the season on their opponents.

Moyne Rangers picked up a 4-2 win away to Cloughbawn, with James Peare (two), Alan Tobin and Darragh Pepper scoring for the visitors, and Páidí Cullen and

Cillian Doyle replying.

Elsewhere, Forth Celtic edged out Bunclody 2-1 in Murrintown, with goals from Justin Moran and Luke Kavanagh, while Jay Somers scored for the visitors.

Division1

Leaders North End United had to settle for a share of the spoils on Sunday when they were held to a 2-2 draw by New Ross Celtic.

Jordan Jarrett netted a double for the Wexford town side, with Shane Murray and Gary O’Connor replying for Celtic.

Tombrack earned an impressive away win over Corach Ramblers, with Eoghan Murphy (two), James Coleman and Jamie Walshe scoring in their 4-1 triumph, and Seán Byrne netting for the hosts.

Glynn Barntown also picked up three points on their travels, with Seán Carmody, Allen Colegate and Davo Miller scoring in their 3-1 victory over Adamstown. Ian White hit the back of the net for the home side.

Seán Breen and Conor Heffernan got the goals for Moyne Rangers as they won 2-1 away to St. Cormac’s.
